Abstract: The bed mobility platform device assists users in lifting their lower extremities onto and off of a bed. To meet the needs in the field of adaptive bed mobility devices, this invention comprises bed mobility assistive platform device with a step assembly further comprising two or more platforms to provide simple maneuvering capabilities for individuals that have difficulty safely and efficiently lifting their lower extremities into bed and a method of ascending and descending from the bed. The step assembly is retained and secured between opposed surfaces of at least one article of furniture, such as a mattress and a box spring. The device enables simple maneuvering capabilities for individuals who have difficulty safely and efficiently lifting their lower extremities into bed.

Abstract: A combination chair/bed furniture and method of using. The furniture includes a support frame system and a multi-fold cushion assembly adapted to be supported by a frame of the support frame system. The cushion assembly includes folded cushions that define a seat cushion supported by the frame in a chair configuration of the furniture and when extended defines a mattress supported by the frame and at least one mattress support frame of the support frame system in a bed configuration of the furniture. A seat back is supported by the frame in the chair configuration of the furniture and serves as a headboard or additional mattress in the bed configuration.

Abstract: A foldout bed is described. The foldout bed has a left side wall, a right side wall, and a top panel that extends between and attached to the top ends of the two side walls. The bottom end of each side wall is coupled with a counterbalance mechanism. A bed tray is pivotally coupled with a the counterbalance mechanisms and is transitionable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The bed tray provides a unitary planar surface that is configured to support a mattress and a person when in the open configuration. Each counterbalance mechanism has a frame and a piston that attaches the frame to the bed tray. The frame has a base flange disposed perpendicular to the side walls and located at the bottommost end of the counterbalance mechanism against a base plate of the wall.

Abstract: A wall bed is configured to allow a user to maximize a living space with a functional bed that can transform from daytime use to nighttime use. The wall bed is configured to function and serve a plurality of purposes as an entertainment center, a bedroom, or an office and is easily operable between these purposes with simple movements. The wall bed system comprises of a fireplace that has an embedded television which can function both as a television and be used to simulate an active fire via an external source connected to the television. The wall bed also comprises of an adjustable workstation where a height of the workstation may be adjusted to suit a user to work either standing up or sitting down. The wall bed also comprises of a bed and other fixtures such as and not limited to a mirror and an artwork.

The slide-out structure is adapted to move relative to the wall and the floor of the living quarters, and the slide-out structure includes a rear wall. A second seat assembly is carried by the slide-out structure and spaced apart from the first seat assembly, and the second seat assembly includes a second seat bottom. A bed assembly is pivotably carried by the slide-out structure. The bed assembly includes a base and a mattress supported by the base. In a seating mode, the bed assembly is disposed between the seat assemblies and the rear wall. In a bed mode, the bed assembly overlies the seat bottoms.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an intensive use furniture component having a sealing connection on a mounting surface for sealingly attaching to a floor or wall to prevent liquid from seeping under or behind the furniture component. The furniture component is formed by an outer shell having a side wall extending generally perpendicular to the mounting surface. A mounting flange is disposed adjacent the sidewall. A bolt hole is formed in the mounting flange. The sealing connection comprises a caulk channel formed as a channel in the mounting surface for receiving a bead of caulk to fill the seam between the mounting surface and the wall or floor to prevent fluid from seeping past the caulk channel to a space adjacent the interior mounting surface.

Abstract: A system and method for patient transfer, including patient transfer from a bed to a rollable chair and patient transfer from a wheelchair to a bed. A docking assembly can connect a rollable chair to a bed for transfer. The systems and methods can provide a safe, dignified, and comfortable transfer for patients. A transfer bed, a docking assembly, and a wheelchair can be used together as a system and can reduce the physical and psychological burden of bedridden patients and their caregivers. The transfer bed, docking assembly, and wheelchair can be appropriate for use within a patient's home, nursing home, hospital or any location where a patient is transferred between a bed and a wheelchair. The transfer bed, docking assembly, and wheelchair can be controlled such that a patient is transferred from a bed to a wheelchair or from a wheelchair to a bed.

Abstract: An easy-access over-the-bed bassinet especially useful in hospitals for new mothers that has a barrier to prevent the infant from rolling off a sleeping platform, wherein one wall may be lowered to permit a mother to reach in and cradle the infant. The convertible wall has a restoring mechanism to move it back to its original barrier position upon removal of the weight of the mother's arms. The convertible wall may translate vertically into a frame, or pivot about a bottom edge, or pivot or roll underneath the sleeping platform. The bassinet may include a strap that maintains contact of the mother against the bassinet while breast feeding the baby in the bassinet. The entire sleeping platform may tilt about a horizontal axis, and may rotate about a vertical axis for ease of positioning relative to the mother. The bassinets are mounted on sturdy frames that permit over-the-bed positioning.

A ramp support/attachment rail may extend along a length of the footboard and may support a ramp configured to support an animal. The ramp may include a ramp landing and a ramp side extending from an upward facing surface of the ramp to the floor, wherein the ramp side may abut the mattress. In embodiments, the first side rail may be shorter than the second side rail to accommodate a ramp entry, and the ramp may extend from the ramp entry upwardly to the ramp landing. Additionally, the footboard may extend upwardly past the upper surface of the ramp to hide the ramp.

In the deployed state, a mattress may be positioned on top of the platform and in a stowed state, the mattress may be positioned in the enclosed volume. Abstract: The components of the furniture system, in a vertical orientation, have a cabinet with a central opening in an upper section and a plurality of support panels stacked in a laterally oriented position within the central opening. The cabinet is adapted to be placed against a structure such as a wall. Engaging items include a television. The cabinet further has a horizontal orientation with a top opening and alternate configuration and function such as a bed or sofa. In this configuration the support panels are repositionable to span the entire horizontal top opening of the cabinet. The repositioning of such components is done by mechanisms such as hinges, rails and/or manually repositioning the components.

Balance weights are provided for the mattress frame between adjacent pulley grooves, to make torque in front of central axes of the pulleys be equal to that behind the central axes.

Abstract: A pneumatic bed system with an integral table and headboard is disclosed. The pneumatic bed includes a bottom panel of air barrier material and top panel of air barrier material connected by a side panel of air barrier material which extends around the perimeter of the top and bottom panels; the panels being welded or otherwise fused together to define an air chamber. A valve or valves are secured to the panels in an airtight fashion for the introduction of air into the air chamber for inflation of the pneumatic bed. Additional features such as pockets, perimeter pneumatic support tubes, flocked top surface and the like may also be incorporated onto the panels for additional functionality. In at least one embodiment, a side table is integrated to the sidewall panel. The internal cavity of the side table can be in fluid communication with the internal cavity of the bed.

Abstract: A bench with a height adjustable top assembly that functions both as a massage platform when in the raised position and a bench for seating when in the lowered position and is designed with the aesthetic characteristics of furniture that can be left in place when not in use as a massage platform. The massage platform is raised into position by lifting the ends of the massage platform top assembly. The manual power assist assembly provides assistance when raising the top assembly. When not in use as a massage platform the top assembly can be lowered to rest on the base assembly and can be used for seating. Further, a portion of the top assembly massage platform can be raised providing a back rest with multiple reclining positions.

Abstract: Several embodiments of a new concealable bed system, which comprises a new combination of a folding bed assembly (112), a drawer assembly (110), and a drawer support-and-control assembly (120). The embodiments allow the space-savings and convenience of sleeper sofas to be extended to a wide variety of other furniture types or other constructions, including but not limited to desks, entertainment centers, cabinets, closets, etc. In the closed position, the embodiments can look like any other drawer in a piece of furniture, custom millwork, etc., but when opened the folding bed assembly is exposed and can he easily deployed. Thus the new concealable bed system provides a more efficient, durable, and flexible option for concealing a bed than sleeper sofas, Murphy beds, trundle beds, roll-away beds, or inflatable beds.

Abstract: The present invention relates to multipurpose furniture which combines a bed and a desk, and is positioned between furniture facing each other. Since a turning apparatus for the multipurpose furniture is simplified, there is a reduction in all kinds of work processes and the work load required for turning of a turning member, of which a table surface and a mattress respectively used as a desk and a bed are formed on top and bottom, and manufacturing cost is decreased. Abstract: A pull-down bed assembly including a movable frame which constitutes the bedspring and is pivoted to a fixed frame so as to define a closed vertical position, in which the movable frame is substantially in a vertical position, and an open horizontal position, for use as a bed, in which the movable frame is in the horizontal position; the assembly has a balancing system, which is adapted to control the movement of the movable frame with respect to the fixed frame. The balancing system is constituted by springs with a respective transmission mechanism, which are arranged within the fixed frame and the movable frame and are not visible from the outside both in the closed position and in the open position of the movable frame.

Abstract: A flexible-usage travel suite that includes an enclosure having a floor, surrounding walls defining a predetermined area and an egress/ingress opening. A seat is positioned adjacent a first side of the enclosure and is moveable between a deployed seating configuration and a stowed storage configuration against the first side of the enclosure. A bed is positioned adjacent a second side of the enclosure and is moveable between a deployed lie-flat configuration when the seat is in its stowed storage configuration, and a stowed storage position when the seat is in its deployed seating configuration. A utility chair and utility table are positioned within the enclosure and are moveable among a stowed position and a use position.
