Abstract: An additive to a fuel oil for a Diesel engine having a Diesel particulate filter (DPF), which comprises a molybdenum compound and having the function of improving the combustion property of a particulate matter (PM) trapped with DPF; a fuel oil comprising the additive; a lubricating oil composition for a Diesel engine having DPF, which has a sulfated ash content of 1.0% by weight or smaller, a sulfur content of 0.3% by weight or smaller and a molybdenum content of 100 ppm or greater; and DPF for removing PM in combustion gas discharged from a Diesel engine vehicle by trapping and burning PM, DPF comprising a filter supporting a molybdenum compound. The combustion property of PM trapped with the filter of DPF is improved, PM is burned at a low temperature with stability, the efficiency of removal of PM is improved and the life of DPF is increased.
Abstract: An oil-based corrosion inhibitor composition for use in lubricating and/or hydraulic oils includes an oil-soluble sulfonate salt, an imidazoline salt of a fatty acid or a poly acid, and a polymerized ester, with the corrosion inhibitor composition being diluted with a polyalphaolefin to a suitable viscosity for subsequent use as an additive to such oils. In preferred embodiments, the corrosion inhibiting additive composition is mixed with the lubricating and/or hydraulic oils at a concentration of between about 2–5% by weight of the combination.

Abstract: A cutting or grinding oil composition comprising (A) a base oil and (B) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of dibasic acids having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, tribasic acids having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and ester derivatives of these acids; and a cutting or grinding oil composition comprising component (A) described above, component (B) described above, (C) a compound containing sulfur, and/or (D) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of perbasic alkali metal sulfonates and perbasic alkaline earth metal sulfonates are disclosed. By using the oil composition, increase in working efficiency, such as suppressed wear of working tools and superior precision of a finished surface, can be achieved.
Abstract: This invention relates to perfluoroalkyl group terminated urethanes, thiourethanes and ureas of the general formula(R--X--CONH).sub.m Awhere m is 1, 2 or 3, R is R.sub.f --E and optionally R.sub.1 with the proviso that at least one R is R.sub.f --E, R.sub.f is a perfluoroalkyl group, R.sub.1 is a hydrocarbon group, E is a divalent linking group, X is --O--, --S--, --NR.sub.2 -- and R.sub.2 is H or lower alkyl and A is R.sub.f E or R.sub.1 if m is 1 and a divalent or trivalent linking group if m is 2 or 3 respectively. Compounds of this general formula are useful as solid lubricants or as additives for waxes and resins providing lubricating properties.
