Abstract: Turbine lubricant additives and lubricants including such additives that provide rust prevention and water separation but also pass the demanding stage II wet filterability at the same time.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lubricating composition containing (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) a compound selected from the group consisting of: (i) an ester-containing heterocycle; (ii) an amide-containing heterocycle; and (iii) a pyrimidine, wherein the ester-containing heterocycle and the amide-containing heterocycle have a hydrocarbyl group containing 6 to 40 carbon atoms. The invention further provides for a method of supplying an internal combustion engine with the lubricating composition.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to lubricants disposed over magnetic storage media, such as rotatable thin film magnetic discs. One embodiment comprises a lubricant compound of a fluoropolyether chain having one or more carbonyl-imide pairs. For example, the carbonyl-imide pair may be located at one end, both ends, and/or in the middle of the fluoropolyether chain.

Abstract: A composition comprising a compound of formula I:
wherein W represents O, S—A2, or two groups, R3 and R4; bonds a and b are single or double bonds, provided that one of a and b is a single bond and the other is a double bond; c is a single or double bond, and d is a single bond, double bond, or two single bonds, provided that d is a single bond when c is a double bond, d is not a single bond when c is a single bond, and W is R3 and R4 when d is two single bonds; A1, A2, B1 and B2 are independently hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl or one of the groups depicted in Scheme 1:
and a dithiophosphate.
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of at least one compound of general formula (I), ##STR1## in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 independently of one another represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or alkenyl radical; R.sub.4 represents an alkyl or alkenyl radical, and n represents 1 to 5; or of an acid addition salt thereof, as an inhibitor of corrosion in the extraction, processing, storage and transportation of crude oil and natural gas, and to a process for the preparation of this compound.
Abstract: Turbine oils of improved corrosion resistance comprise a synthetic ester base stock and additives comprising a combination of a dibasic carboxylic acid and a second component selected from alkyl or alkenyl succinic acid/anhydride ester or hemi-linear or branched ester and hydroxylated derivatives of such esters or hemi esters, and linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl substituted succinimide or amino substituted succinimide.
Abstract: A lubricant composition having biocidal properties comprises a cyclic imidazoline as the active lubricant in combination with sufficient acid to render the imidazoline soluble in water and optionally including amides and nonionic surfactants. The concentrate, when diluted for use, provides biocidal control action against yeasts and bacteria. The concentrate is preferably adjusted to a pH in the range of 3 to 8.3.
Abstract: A novel method is disclosed for preparation of bismuth dithiocarbamates by an exchange reaction between a bismuth carboxylate and a metal dithiocarbamate. The metal dithiocarbamate can be added to the reaction or prepared in situ by reacting a secondary amine and carbon disulfide in the presence of metal oxide, metal hydroxide or a tertiary amine. The reaction products are useful as extreme pressure additives when incorporated in lubricants.
