Abstract: A slideway lubricating oil composition, additive concentrate, method of lubricating sliding parts. The lubricating oil includes a base oil; a metal-free friction modifier; and a metal-free, sulfur-free, phosphorus containing anti-wear/extreme pressure agent. The lubricating oil provides a lower coefficient of friction for non-metal sliding surfaces than for metal sliding surfaces.

Abstract: A motorcycle having an engine and a clutch may be lubricated by supplying to the engine, but not to the clutch a lubricant of an oil of lubricating viscosity, an overbased detergent, a dispersant, a metal salt of a phosphorus acid, and a hydroxyalkyl-substituted imidazoline having a hydrocarbyl substituent of at least about 8 carbon atoms and a hydroxyalkyl substituent having 2 to 8 carbon atoms.

Abstract: Salts of the anion of di-, tri- or tetrathiophosphoric acid of the formula I in which Z1 and Z2 are each independently an oxygen or sulfur atom, and Ra and Rb are each independently an organic group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and a cation which comprises a heterocyclic ring system having one to three nitrogen atoms.
Abstract: A grease with improved water resistance is based on a combination of a polyamide thixotrope with a water insoluble thickener, preferably a lithium soap/complex thickener and an antioxidant/corrosion inhibitor/antiwear additive package. The improvement is maintained when highly effective or aggressive rust inhibitors which normally tend to degrade water wash out resistance are present in the grease. Another advantage is that resistance to fretting is significantly improved to the extent that the greases containing these components are capable of achieving a high level of resistance to false brinelling. The greases are particularly useful for application in wind turbine bearings.

Abstract: A composition comprising a compound of formula I:
wherein W represents O, S—A2, or two groups, R3 and R4; bonds a and b are single or double bonds, provided that one of a and b is a single bond and the other is a double bond; c is a single or double bond, and d is a single bond, double bond, or two single bonds, provided that d is a single bond when c is a double bond, d is not a single bond when c is a single bond, and W is R3 and R4 when d is two single bonds; A1, A2, B1 and B2 are independently hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl or one of the groups depicted in Scheme 1:
and a dithiophosphate.
Abstract: A lubricant composition is disclosed that is suitable for direct fuel injected, crankcase-scavenged two-stroke cycle engines. That lubricant composition has a major amount of at least one oil of lubricating viscosity, a minor amount of a lubricity additive, a polyalkyl amide, an imidazoline, a polyisobutylene, and a functionalized polyisobutylene. The lubricity additive contains glycerol monooleate, an acid aliphatic aromatic amine-phosphate, and sodium sulfonate. The acid aliphatic aromatic amine-phosphate has a phosphorus/oxygen atom ratio of from 4.0:1 to 4.5:1, and at least 1.2 equivalents of acid to 1.0 equivalents of base.
Abstract: A food grade lubricant composition is described which is useful as hydraulic oil, gear oil, and compressor oil for equipment in the food service industry. This composition comprises (A) major amount of a genetically modified vegetable oil and (B) a minor amount of a performance additive. In other embodiments the composition contains either (C) a phosphorus compound or (D) a non-genetically modified vegetable oil.
