Abstract: A lubricating oil composition for an air compressor according to the present invention contains a synthetic base oil, and one or more amine-based antioxidants selected from the group consisting of asymmetric diphenylamine-based compounds, phenylnaphthylamine-based compounds, asymmetric dinaphthylamine-based compounds, dialkyl monophenylamine-based compounds and dialkyl mononaphthylamine-based compounds.
Abstract: Lubricating oil composition having a sulphur content of from 0.01 to 0.3 wt. %, a phosphorus content of from 0.01 to 0.1 wt. % and a sulphated ash content of from 0.1 to 1.2 wt. %, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition is provided. The lubricating oil composition contains a mineral and/or synthetic base oil and one or more compounds of formula I, wherein R is an optionally substituted branched or straight chain alkyl group containing from 3 to 50 carbon atoms; R1 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted branched or straight chain alkyl group containing from 1 to 50 carbon atoms; n is an integer equal to or greater than 1, and m is also an integer equal to or greater than 1; and X is an integer from 2 to 10,000. A method of improving engine cleanliness in diesel, gas-fuelled or gasoline engine applications using such composition is also provided.
Abstract: Methods for regenerating or improving the regeneration of a particulate filter and for improving the performance of a particulate filter during the operation of an internal combustion engine comprise lubricating the engine with a lubricant composition comprising additives that when combusted can form an ash deposit in the filter. The methods are particularly useful for diesel particulate filters on diesel engines that are equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system.
Abstract: A lubricant containing a perfluoropolyether compound and a magnetic recording medium using the same are disclosed. When the lubricant is applied to a magnetic disk, the chain decomposition of perfluoropolyether ascribable to hydrofluoric acid is reduced. In addition, the generation of a highly viscous substance is reduced.
