Patent number: 5653967Abstract: A cosmetic component is produced by dispersing in water a water-soluble fiber composed of about 4 to 6 weight percent beta glucan, about 1 to 5 weight percent fat, about 80 to 94 weight percent carbohydrates and less than 8 weight percent protein. The fiber composition forms a dispersion (e.g., a first paste or gel) with the hot water, which is mixed for about 1 to 5 minutes. Following mixing, the dispersion is cooled and then combined with one or more stable cosmetic components to form a cosmetic product.
