The Nitrogen Is Part Of The Cation Of A Salt Formed With The Organic Compound Containing Sulfoxy* (e.g., Triethanol Amine Salt, Quaternary Amine Salt) Patents (Class 516/151)
Abstract: A flocculant for separating and flocculating oily components and water components is provided so that no sludge is produced when the oily components and the water components contained in the emulsion having a high COD value; and the throughput of the active sludge is not decreased in the secondary treatment of the active sludge. A flocculant for separating and flocculing oily components and water components contained in oil-in-water type or water-in-oil type emulsion, comprises a unit (i), and at least one of units (ii) and (iii) represented by the following formulas: (i) —(C(R1R2)C(R3X))—, (ii) —(C(R4R5)C(R6Y))—, (iii) —(C(R7R8)C(R9Z))—; wherein X is a group having —SO3M, M is hydrogen or a metal element, Y is a group having a quaternary nitrogen atom, Z is an electrophilic group, each R1 to R9 is hydrogen or an alkyl group, and a ratio per molecule of these units (i):(ii):(iii) is (1 to 100):(1 to 100):(1 to 100).
Abstract: A quaternary surfactant comprising a cyclic diamine group, compositions comprising the quaternized amido cyclic amine surfactant, a gelled aqueous composition comprising the quaternized amido cyclic amine surfactant, use of the gelled aqueous well treatment applications and methods of preparation and intermediates used to prepare the quaternized amido cyclic amine surfactant.
Abstract: Methods and compositions effective for preventing or resolving emulsions of oil in aqueous solutions, preferably for preventing or resolving oil-in-water emulsions formed in aqueous brines used as completion fluids or workover fluids.
Abstract: The invention involves the demulsification and liquefaction of hydrocarbon based sludges. A demulsifier and a liquefaction agent and methods of using the same are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the demulsifier contains a salt of DDBSA, polypropylene glycol, and citrene. In a preferred embodiment, the liquefaction agent contains a glycol ether and sodium silicate. In another preferred embodiment, the liquefaction agent contains a glycol ether and citrene. In preferred practice, the sludge is treated with the liquefaction agent, circulated, treated with the demulsifier, and circulated further. An object of the invention is to provide a hydrocarbon based sludge that is sufficiently liquefied to be pumped and which is sufficiently demulsified to allow the waters, oils, and solids in the sludge to separate.
Abstract: The invention relates to amphiphilic compounds of the general formula (I) with at least two hydrophilic and at least two hydrophobic groups based on di, oligo or polyolethers. The amphiphilic compounds of this invention are highly surface active and are suitable as emulsifiers, demulsifiers, detergents, dispersants and hydrotropes for industrial and domestic purposes, e.g. in the fields of metalworking, ore separation, surface treatment, washing and cleaning, cosmetics, medicine and food processing and preparation.
