  • Patent number: 8168683
Abstract: A fluorinated pyridinium cationic compound of formula (I) wherein, Rf is F(CF2)6(CH2CF2)m(CH2CH2)n—, m and n are each independently integers of 1 to 3, and R is H, C1 to C5 linear or branched alkyl, or C1 to C5 linear or branched alkoxy, having surfactant properties for lowering surface tension in an aqueous medium or solvent medium, and for use as a foaming agent.

  • Patent number: 7262152
Abstract: The invention concerns modified hydrophobic polyelectrolytes by amide formation of a hydrophilic skeleton by n-alkylamines whereof the alkyl chain comprises 6 to 22 carbon atoms. Preferably, the amide formation is obtained by di-n-dodecylamine. The hydrophilic skeleton is preferably a sodium polyacrylate or polyacrylic acid corresponding to a statistical acrylate-AMPS copolymer. Said polymers can be used for stabilizing direct or invert emulsions likely to be destabilized or inverted by a modification in the degree of salinity of the aqueous phase or a pH modification. The invention is particularly useful for stabilizing oil drilling fluids or the like in particular drilling, fracturation, acidification or completion fluids.

  • Patent number: 6127430
Abstract: The invention provides a microemulsion that comprises from 0.1 to 99.0 parts by weight hydrofluoroether, from 1.0 to 99.9 parts by weight water, the sum of the parts of hydrofluoroether and water being 100 parts, and fluorinated surfactant. The microemulsions of the invention preferably contain a mixture of fluorinated surfactants and may also contain a non-fluorinated surfactant. The microemulsions of the invention may also further contain cosurfactant and/or cosolvent.
