Abstract: The present invention is directed towards compositions having lecithin and a plasticizer. Processes for producing such compositions are further disclosed. The present invention is also directed towards uses of the novel compositions as a dispersant in order to disperse compounds, such as in the fields of coatings, inks, cosmetics and the like. In one embodiment, the dispersants of the present invention are used to disperse pigments.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an aqueous quick-setting bitumen-aggregate mix suitable for cold pavement of roads, parking places, sidewalks and the like. The bitumen-aggregate mix is manufactured by mixing a mineral aggregate, water, a de-emulsifier, containing hydraulic cement, and a cationic oil-in-water bitumen emulsion, containing, as an emulsifier, a salt of a tertiary diamine and a phosphoric acid. The diamine has the formula (I), where one or two of the groups R1, R2, R4 and R5 designate a hydrocarbon group of 6–22, preferably 8–20 carbon atoms, and the remaining R1, R2, R4 and R5 groups are an alkyl group with 1–4 carbon atoms, and/or a group —(A)2H, where A is an alkyleneoxy group with 2–3 carbon atoms, and s is a number from 1–4, R3 is an alkylene group with 2–4 carbon atoms and n is a number from 0–2.

Abstract: The invention concerns a stable aqueous colloidal dispersion of colloids with apatite structure, having a pH ranging between 5 and 10.5, comprising a bifunctionalised stabilising agent having a first amine or ammonium function and a second function capable of complexing calcium, and consisting of oblong colloids with an average number length ranging between 5 and 100 nm and an equivalent aspect ratio (number average length/equivalent diameter ratio) ranging between 2 and 300, said colloids with apatite structure corresponding to the formula: Ca10-x(HPO4)x(PO4)6-x(J)2-x, wherein x and J are such as defined in claim 1.

Abstract: A water-based protective composition for automotive surfaces and the like is disclosed, comprising UV absorbers and light stabilizers. A method of using a water-based protective composition as well as methods of applying said compositions are also disclosed.
Abstract: A composition for application to a surface and a method of making the same, said composition comprising at least one wax; at least one reaction product derived from a first surfactant and a second surfactant; and between 40% and 99.8% water by weight. The composition is made by:
a) forming an emulsion by combining the water and the wax after heating both the water and the wax to a temperature greater than the melting point of the wax, where at least one of said water and said wax contains said first surfactant, said first surfactant being selected from the group consisting of a cationic surfactant and an anionic surfactant; and
b) adding said second surfactant to the emulsion, said second surfactant having a charge which is opposite to that of said first surfactant.
Abstract: The present invention is in the area of administration forms and delivery systems for drugs, vaccines and other biologically active agents. More specifically the invention is related to the preparation of suspensions of colloidal solid lipid particles (SLPs) of predominantly anisometrical shape with the lipid matrix being in a stable polymorphic modification and of suspensions of micron and submicron particles of bioactive agents (PBAs); as well as to the use of such suspensions or the lyophilizates thereof as delivery systems primarily for the parenteral administration of preferably poorly water-soluble bioactive substances, particularly drugs, and to their use in cosmetic, food and agricultural products.SLPs and PBAs are prepared by the following emulsification process:(1) A solid lipid or bioactive agent or a mixture of solid lipids or bioactive agents is melted.
