With Transporting Feature Patents (Class 52/143)
  • Patent number: 4726158
Abstract: A transportable structure to form houses and the like, for immediate use in case of calamities and for other uses, comprises a supporting framework made up of closed longitudinal frames, floor platform, roof covering and head walls, all of which delimiting a useful volume, and mobile panels that are able to form additional side rooms. The mobile panels are finished with protruding elements, which form, at least in part, cylindrical surfaces slidingly cooperating to form articulations. Angle bars are provided at the ends of the structural sections to make up the seats for pins that are able to prevent the cooperating cylindrical surfaces from incidentally moving away from each other. Further angle bars perimetrically complete the panels while seals mounted on the sections coact with the sections being coupled at the articulations to ensure sealing.

  • Patent number: 4712966
Abstract: A storage rack with moveable lifting jacks. The rack includes horizontally extending members joined but spaced apart by a pair of upper and a pair of lower cross members. Two upright posts extend above the horizontally extending support members and are secured in place by the cross members. A powered lifting jack and a follower lifting jack each include tongues insertable between the horizontally extending support members at the opposite ends of the rack. The tongues are biased between the upper and lower cross members preventing the pivotal motion of the tongues which are mounted to wheels rotatably mounted to frames having hydraulic cylinder motors mounted thereatop. Piston rods are extendable from the hydraulic cylinder motors and are attached to the tongues to apply lifting force in an upward direction along an axis extending through the wheel axis of rotation applying lifting force to the opposite ends of the rack.

  • Patent number: 4638604
Abstract: A stage system and apparatus for construction of flat stages, choral risers, and the like which utilizes a basic structural flat rectangular panel module with an edge of extruded material having a re-entrant groove on the outer surface and upper and lower sockets on each side of each corner of the panel to receive support legs fashioned to be received in the bottom sockets. Railing stanchions are provided to seat in the top sockets. In the vertically spaced and overlapping choral risers, the top sockets serve to locate the overlap and mechanically lock the panels in an overlap position. Inserts received in the re-entrant groove interengage with the re-entrant groove of an adjacent panel to provide lateral and vertical stability to adjacent panels.Special leg brackets are provided to engage the bottom sockets of two to four adjacent module panels to provide vertical support and lateral retention. Leg assemblies can be formed as a folding frame to facilitate shipping and storage.

  • Patent number: 4249351
Abstract: Self-erecting apparatus for transporting and temporarily storing material such as asphalt; the apparatus includes a surge bin and a drag chute for transporting the asphalt material from a drum plant to the surge bin. The drag chute and the surge bin are pivotally attached to each other and to a flat bed trailer, permitting their simultaneous raising and lowering by means of a winch apparatus attached by means of cables to the support legs of the surge bin to provide ease of lowering the bin for transportation of the apparatus from one site to another and ease in erecting the bin at a new site. A foldable side panel of the surge bin permits the drag chute to nest in the surge bin thus providing a more compact arrangement of the apparatus when in the lowered configuration.

  • Patent number: 4240646
Abstract: Apparatus for use both as a platform for drum-set performances and as a carrier for such a set. The apparatus consists of a rectangular bottom section with two or more side members hinged thereto for raising to a vertical position or lowering to a horizontal position. Castors are attached to at least two of such side members so that when they are raised, the castors extend downward from the bottom section, and when lowered, the castors are retracted above the bottom section. With the side members raised, the drum-set can be placed upon the bottom section, and the entire unit rolled, or carried by provided handles. With the side members lowered, the drum-set can be placed upon the bottom section and side members, and the apparatus used as a performance platform.

  • Patent number: 4232488
Abstract: A portable stage comprises a truck body with a fixed roof forming a main fixed panel (A) of a stage which is made by foldable side wall panels of the truck which can fold out into B, C and even D and E extensions for establishing a 30 or 40 foot or even greater width stage (using such foldable panel assemblies on either side of the truck) or fold down to an array which fits entirely within the cross section envelope or frame of the truck for over-the-road travel. The length of the stage is the length of the truck body. Practical 0.degree.-180.degree. movement between end to end arranged panels B and C (or between C and D or D and E) is made possible by a series of actuating assemblies running the length of the truck and each of which comprises plural linear actuating rams (hydraulically or pneumatically operated) wherein one such ram makes a forward stroke for driving a panel through an extreme acute angle range of movement (e.g., 0.degree.-60.degree.

  • Patent number: 4214410
Abstract: The following specification discloses a mobile home support having means for supporting a mobile home during earthquake tremors and wind storms to prevent the collapse thereof. The support comprises an axle support which supports the normally spring weight and is formed from a plate supported by upright stanchions for purposes of accommodating the bolts or lugs of the wheel drums of the mobile home. The stanchions are braced with cross members in angular relationship for purposes of allowing cross lateral stresses to be absorbed within the structure on a basis providing both lateral and axial support. The axle of the mobile home is attached to the cross members with a bracket, thereby creating a cross linked stress support in angularly oriented relationship providing support under the normally sprung load of the mobile home in combination with the axle.
