  • Patent number: 7246466
Abstract: A combination of profiles for forming slider and double hung sash windows or patio doors includes a common outer profile and two different inner profiles so that one inner profile can be used to form the double hung and the other to form the slider. This allows the slider top inner to be cut away to form a floating section resting on the top of the sash. This allows the drain holes to be formed separately in the inner and the outer to be longitudinally offset to prevent direct air penetration. The sash frame is formed with a removable glass stop on one side which snaps into engagement at right angles to the glass surface of the sealed unit to allow formation of a tri-pane with 0.5 inch spacing and to allow the use of two strips of adhesive one on each side of the sealed unit with no need for drainage.

  • Patent number: 6966158
Abstract: The invention discloses a universal window/door frame comprised of a group of components that can be used singularly or in combination to form a plurality of window/door types. The components forming the various window and door types are a frame, sash and T-bar of standard thickness that forms the frame and glass holding elements of the window or door. The hardware defining the window type uses one or more of a plurality of concealed channels contained within the frame. When necessary, access to and use of the channels is obtained by removing material forming the interior wall of the frame providing access to the concealed channel or channels that will be used to define the windows functional components, such as having a screen or a sliding member. Some types, i.e. jalousie and direct set picture windows, do not require the use of the concealed channels. The use of the T-bar provides for the inclusion of various window types having the potential for common glass lines on the vertical and horizontal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the improvement on the assembly structure of door leaf with glass, and more particularly relates to the halving structure of two halving injected frames having the same structure with glass. The back-side circumferences of the halving injected frames with glass have a plurality of male tenons and female tenons which are disposed correspondingly each other top-to-bottom and left-to-right. By using the structures of male tenon and female tenon and the design of integrally surrounding reinforcing rib, the halving injected frame with glass has U-shape male tenon reinforcing rib and U-shape female tenon reinforcing rib so as to strengthen the strength of the having injected frame with glass; therefore, two halving injected frames (having the same structure) with glass joint each other by male tenons and female tenons to fix a multiple-layer glass, which is then held on a door leaf to quickly assemble a door leaf with glass without the need of joint members such as screws.

  • Patent number: 6330769
Abstract: A frame including a bracket receiver structure and at least one frame-to-sash bracket removably secured to the bracket receiver structure such that the frame-to-sash bracket can be removed or repositioned to enable various sash types to be interchanged within the frame. The frame-to-sash bracket can be a bracket configured to mount a double-hung sash, an inswing sash or an outswing sash within the frame. The various sash types can be installed from either the exterior side or the interior side of the frame.

  • Patent number: 6314690
Abstract: A high strength window screen frame that includes an extruded metal frame that fits within a window opening in a building. The frame is made up of a plurality of window frame units, each defining an opening and covered with mesh. A standoff leg portion of the window frame units provides a standoff separation of the mesh from a glass pane so that when objects strike the mesh and deflect the mesh, the glass pane is not impacted.

  • Patent number: 6286288
Abstract: A multipane window unit is provided in which a sash frame is formed having an integral spacing structure upon which glazing panes are directly affixed. The integrally spacing structure is formed integral with the sash frame at vertical internal glazing surfaces. Adhesive can be affixed to the vertical internal glazing surfaces the glazing panes. In this manner, a rigid, structural sash frame can be formed prior to attachment of the glazing panes, thereby eliminating the need for using separately manufactured insulating glass units while obtaining similar and improved benefits.

  • Patent number: 6244000
Abstract: A single extruded cross-section and a single milled cross-section provide the rails and stiles of window sashes with the trouble-free functionality of vinyl and the esthetic functionality of wood. A few accessory extruded cross-sections provide weatherproof meeting rails and jambs and out-of-plumb compensation. Assembly of the extruded and milled components is accomplished simply and securely. This structure is characterized by plastic extrusions that feature a few interactive primary cross-sectional profiles, and milled wood or otherwise-shaped parts that feature a secondary cross-sectional profile. The primary and secondary profiles coact simply, securely and attractively.

  • Patent number: 6209269
Abstract: An assembly system used to build two pane thermoacoustic windows for houses and buildings is provided. The assembly system uses a set of profiles and joints and a permanently installed valve to assemble the window frame without a fusion welding machine. The system creates an airtight chamber directly on the frame. The valve allows the assembler to evacuate the air in the airtight chamber to make a vacuum, or to inflow a gas. The system improves the insulating thermal and acoustic capacity of the window, and allows a supplier to sell the components to build the window, which is then assembled by snapping together profiles and joints. The system can also be applied to assembly one pane window and for other purposes.

  • Patent number: 6192652
Abstract: A spacing profile for a spacing frame, which is to be fitted in the edge area of a double-glazing unit, forming an interspace, with a profile body of a material possessing low thermal conductivity and with a diffusion-impermeable metal foil which is bonded to the profile body so as to establish a material fit, is characterized in that the metal foil is, at least on the surface facing away from the profile body, provided with a corrosion preventing coating which comprises a colored lacquer coating and/or a layer of chromium or of a chromium alloy, wherein the corrosion preventing coating comprises a thickness which is lower by at least a factor of 2.5, preferably by at least a factor of 10 and further preferred by at least a factor of 20, as compared to the thickness of the metal foil.

  • Patent number: 6185882
Abstract: A rectangular steel frame has a wide peripheral flange integrally connected to a narrow peripheral flange by a web, and a set of spacer bars of predetermined thickness are welded to the narrow flange around the frame. A multiple layer glass unit is positioned within the frame, and a set of trim base strips are secured by peripherally spaced screws to the wide flange and to the spacer bars around the frame for capturing a peripheral portion of the glass unit. Steel reinforcing strips are secured to either or both sets of trim base strips by the screws, and corresponding sets of aluminum trim channels snap-fit onto the base strips around the frame for enclosing the steel reinforcing strips and to provide a neat decorative appearance. The above structure is also used to form a mullion within the window unit or a window frame assembly for a stepped opening in a building wall. Glazing materials extend between each set of trim base strips and the peripheral portion of the window unit.
