    Abstract: A self-supporting modular panel for dividing spaces and/or supporting furniture elements includes a support structure including a cross-beam and an upright fastened to the cross-beam. The support structure has a plurality of horizontal notches. A first plurality of cover sheets are fastened to the cross-beam so as to provide a rest base, and define a housing volume arranged within the rest base. A second plurality of cover sheets are fastened to the upright of the modular support structure so as to provide a wall having plurality of horizontal grooves which provide a passageway for a bracket mount which can be geometrically coupled to a shaped profile that is accommodated within one of the horizontal notches of the support structure. The rest base, with the housing volume, defines a wiring recess suitable to accommodate a plurality of wires.

The interlocking features conceal fasteners that are used proximate the interlock, providing an improved appearance. The top panels attach by spring clips for manual installation and removal. The bottom panels fasten to the wall. Attachment flanges on primary and bottom panels have a groove for fastener alignment. The pegs have resilient arcuate bases with a top flange for engaging a flange channel in the top of a slot and a bottom flange for engaging a floor and back wall of a lower slot. Pegs may be slotted for ease of storage.

The attachment notches are spaced along the length of the vertical post such that the position of the sill can be adjusted. A top cap is attached to the header and engages a top end of the tile to aid in retaining the tile on the support frame. The tile may be a segmented tile having a lower portion and an upper portion joined to each other by a segmented trim channel. The segmented trim channel between the upper and lower portions is not connected to the support frame.
