Patent number: 6014844Abstract: A compressible foam draft pad for use at a lower inner portion of dock shelter helps seal against the lower rear side of a truck of an appropriate height and bridges a gap between an exterior face of a building and a laterally extending member of the dock shelter. The draft pad is generally wedge-shaped and has a forward relief surface that leans away from the laterally extending member with a lower forward edge that abuts the laterally extending member. A rear relief surface can lean away from the building as well, and can have a lower rear edge of the draft pad sealingly abut the building. The relief surfaces can minimize wear, especially along the inside surface of the laterally extending member. The unique shape of the draft pad provides a ratio of the pad's weight to a distance between spaced apart mounting points that is sufficiently small to minimize sagging of the draft pad.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1998Date of Patent: January 18, 2000Assignee: Rite-Hite Holding CorporationInventor: Gregory J. Hook type fastening material is disposed toward one end portion of each side edge and pile type fastening material is disposed toward the other end portion of each side edge. The strips of hook type and pile type fastening materials alternate around the circumference of each unit. Different units can be connected substantially edge-to-edge by simply placing the desired edges in contact to form a wide variety of two-dimensional or three-dimensional arrays or shapes.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1986Date of Patent: June 6, 1989Inventor: William O. Patent number: 4801143Abstract: Disclosed is a bowling lane construction which includes a quick-release return track cover and a return track formed of narrow gauge rails and cross-members which permit foreign objects to fall through the track, and which is installed rapidly and inexpensively. The lane construction further includes a gutter formed of a sheet member of semi-circular cross-section, which is fastened along one side to the adjacent bowling lane, and which ends in a flat gutter of a molded, poly-resinous member which may be easily adapted to lane ends of different configurations and dimensions. The lane construction further provides an impact plate in the ball drop zone to avoid "feather" conditions. A division cap formed of plural sections of a metal shell and a mating core extending centrally through the ends of the metal shell. The entire lane construction is supported by a lateral truss construction which extends at least across each lane and the associated gutters.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1986Date of Patent: January 31, 1989Inventor: Will Heddon

Patent number: 4796649Abstract: A portable shelter for use by ice fisherman is formed from two curved hollow shell halves joined together by cooperating VELCRO flange portions. One shell half is provided with a semicircular integrally formed floor. One shell half may be provided with a hinged or slidable door, while the other shell half is provided with a hooded vent. The portable ice fishing shelter may be transported to the site of use by nesting one shell half within the other shell half and towing the shelter over the surface of a frozen body of water in this condition. Upon arrival at the site of use, the shell halves are assembled to form an igloo-like shelter.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1987Date of Patent: January 10, 1989Inventor: James E. Tolomay

Patent number: 4796397Abstract: A demountable acoustical panel structure having a honeycomb core, and a thin, dense, sound transmitting glass fiber sheet of uniform thickness adhered to each of the oposed major surfaces of the core. One of the thin sheets advantageously carries segments or patches of a separable fastening means to enable the panel structure to be installed on a supporting surface provided with cooperating segments or patches of a separable fastening means by simply aligning said fastening means.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1987Date of Patent: January 10, 1989Inventor: Raymond W. Patent number: 4768317Abstract: An awning structure having two vertical support members, one attached to each end of a horizontal bar; two horizontal projection bars, one attached to the bottom end of each of the supports; two rafter bars each attached to one of the projection bars and the header bar; and a front bar which is attached to the rafter bars. A fabric cover is removably attached to the header bar by a rope track extruding from the header bar. The fabric cover is removably attached to the front bar and projection bars by a plurality of velcro strips.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1985Date of Patent: September 6, 1988Inventor: Gaynor P. Patent number: 4759963Abstract: A universally adaptable fastening device for fastening fishing poles to railings, which has a quick release function is provided by an elasticized band of about one foot long having a Velcro fastening mechanism to secure the two ends together. This band is fastened to the railing. A band of non-stretchable material having a Velcro fastening mechanism to secure the two ends together is permanently attached crosswise to the elasticized band, closer to one end thereof. This band is fastened to the fishing pole.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1987Date of Patent: July 26, 1988Inventors: Madrid Uso, Jr., Londres Uso

Patent number: 4719935Abstract: A tent-like apparatus which has a substantial portion of its roof cut out to form a roof opening. Fastener means are provided around the roof opening, and various types of inserts each having its own fastener about its peripheral edge and each being sized to be fitted within the roof opening and the two fastener portions releasably secured together. The roof opening may be uncovered to provide a direct view and air supply but relatively no protection from inclement weather, insects and the like. A first panel insert may include conventional tent material. A sheet of flexible transparent plastic material may be provided as an insert to provide a clear unobstructed view, protection from the effects of inclement weather, insects and the like, solar heating within the interior of the tent even in relatively cold weather so long as the sun is shining, and sufficient ultraviolet radiation to the tent interior to permit the occupant therein to obtain a suntan in any type of sunny weather.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1986Date of Patent: January 19, 1988Inventor: Stephen R. Patent number: 4702046Abstract: An acoustical wall panel for mounting on walls or similar surfaces includes a wooden support frame, low density fiberglass batts positioned within the support frame, and a generally rigid acoustical board positioned in front of and against the frame. A sheet of material is attached to the back of the frame to hold the fiberglass batts in place. The fiberglass batts and acoustical board are selected so that the batts effectively absorb acoustical energy at one end of the frequency spectrum while the acoustical board absorbs acoustical energy at the other end of the spectrum. An acoustically transparent fabric is positioned over the front surface of the acoustical board to extend over the edges of the board and support frame to the back of the frame where the fabric is attached through the sheet of material to the frame. The fabric serves to hold the acoustical board and support frame together. A mounting frame is provided for mounting the assembled acoustical wall panel to a wall or similar surface.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1985Date of Patent: October 27, 1987Assignee: General Communications, Inc.Inventors: Per Haugen, Harold M.
