  • Patent number: 10881745
Abstract: A gel formulation has been developed which provides high loading, e.g., between about 5% and about 50% wt/wt agent/total gel weight, of a wide range of agents, especially amine-containing compounds such as local anesthetic agents that are known to be difficult to encapsulate, and which adhere to charged surfaces. Examples of pharmaceutically important amines include anesthetics, such as lidocaine. Tuning the ionic strength of an aqueous medium during preparation, suspension, and dialysis purification of the hydrogel composition allows for retention and/or control of agent loading contents, as well as a high capacity for adhesion to charged surfaces mimicking inflamed tissue. In some instances, the rheological properties of the gel can be tuned such as to impart thixotropic properties to the gels formed.

II. Heating the mixture under stirring at a temperature between 20 and 150° C. III. At least partially removing the solvent/water mixture. IV. Optionally adding more solvent. V. Repeating steps III and IV till the water content of the obtained dispersion is less then a desired value and the concentration solid is between 5 and 70 wt %.

Abstract: [Problem to be Solved] The present invention provides a water gel in the form of, for example, flakes with which the defects, such as malodor, discoloration, and hydration, associated with conventional water gels have been eliminated. [Solution] The water gel 1 according to the present invention is provided by using, as raw materials, an alkaline solution, and a monomer, such as acrylic acid, acrylate, or acrylamide, which is added to the alkaline solution, the content of the monomer being approx. 10% to 20%; making a pH-value adjustment; adding a crosslinking agent, a photoprimer and a photosensitizer; and making a UV photo-curing treatment at a wavelength of 320 nm to 400 nm for photocrosslinking the monomer to produce a water gel in the form of, for example, flakes.

Abstract: In a method for producing a lactic acid oligomer by subjecting an aqueous lactic acid solution to a polycondensation reaction under microwave irradiation, the polycondensation reaction is carried out under reduced pressure in the absence of a polymerization catalyst and an organic solvent. An initial polycondensation reaction is carried out under normal pressure, and thereafter, a reaction is carried out under reduced pressure. The pressure is reduced stepwise to give a final pressure of 2000 Pa or less. A lactic acid oligomer which has a high purity and is safe from hygiene point of view can be obtained at a low cost in a short time.
