    Abstract: A flame retardant resin composition consisting essentially of: (A) 100 parts by weight of the total of resin components (components A) which include at least 60 wt % of an aromatic polyester resin; (B) an organic phosphorus compound (component B-1) represented by the following general formula (1) and having an acid value of 0.7 mgKOH/g or less or an organic phosphorus compound (component B-2) represented by the following general formula (2); (C) 0 to 50 parts by weight of a flame retardancy improving resin (component C); and (D) 0 to 200 parts by weight of a filler (component D), and a molded article thereof. Wherein, when the organic phosphorus compound is the component B-1, the amount of the component B-1 is 1 to 100 parts by weight and when the organic phosphorus compound is the component B-2, the component B-2 is used in combination with a biscumyl compound (component B-3), the amount of the component B-2 is 5 to 30 parts by weight, and the amount of the component B-3 is 0.01 to 5 parts by weight.
