Abstract: Coating compositions which cure on baking to provide hard and flexible coatings characterized by superior abrasion resistance and mar resistance comprise:(1) a polyol component which is an adduct of at least a stoichiometric proportion of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide with a bisphenol;(2) a solution copolymer containing from 40% to 70% of isobutyl acrylate, 3% to 20% of hydroxy alkyl ester of a monoethylenic carboxylic acid, up to about 20% of monoethylenic carboxylic acid, and any balance consisting essentially of monomer containing a single ethylenic group and no other reactive group; and(3) aminoplast resin. The polyol constitutes from 20% to 40% of the three named components, the copolymer is present in an amount of from 85% to 150% of the polyol, and the balance of the three named components is the aminoplast resin. Carnauba wax is present in an amount of from 1 to 10 pounds of wax solids per 100 gallons of coating composition.
Abstract: This invention relates to adhesive composition. More particularly, this invention relates to adhesive compositions comprising polyamide (I) prepared by condensing dimeric higher fatty acids and monomeric fatty acids with polyether diamines and aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diamines and polyamide (II) prepared by condensing dimeric higher fatty acids and monomeric fatty acids with aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyamines.
Abstract: Water-repellent adhesive composition for wooden material which consists essentially of a paraffin emulsion and a resin material selected from the group consisting of urea resin, urea-melamine resin, and phenol resin, wherein said paraffin emulsion contains oxidized paraffin.
Abstract: A solid composition of coated water-soluble polymer is made from 80 to 250 parts b.w. of solid particles of at least one water-soluble polymer coated with 100 parts b.w. of at least one paraffinic product solid at room temperature and whose melting point is preferably from 40.degree. to 90.degree. C. The solid composition is made by dispersing particles of the water-soluble polymer in the molten paraffinic product and then cooling down to room temperature.

Abstract: A microcapsule-containing wax composition, which comprises (a) microcapsules of from 2 to 10 .mu.m diameter, (b) waxes and (c) dispersants, with or without pigments, fillers, volatile constituents and other agents conventionally present in wax compositions for the hot carbon process. The wall material of the microcapsules is a cross-linked urea-melamine condensate. The wax compositions may be applied over all or part of the surface of a base material, and give deeply colored copies with color-forming (CF) layers.
