Abstract: Provided is a chromium-free metal surface treatment agent excellent in rust inhibitive performance which can be used in a surface treatment of metal products, in particular, galvanized metal products. The metal surface treatment agent consists essentially of a siliceous binder solution comprising water and/or alcohol as a solvent, and the concentration of the silica component is 8 to 25% by weight. In particular, a metal surface treatment agent containing an alcoholic solution of alkoxysilane oligomer having a weight averaged molecular weight of 1000 to 10000, which is obtained by hydrolyzed condensation polymerization of alkoxysilane, can suppress the occurrence of white rusting for a long time. It is preferred that 3 to 25 parts by weight of a dispersed nano-sized titanium dioxide powder having an average primary particle size of not more than 70 nm, per 100 parts by weight of the silica component be suspended in the siliceous binder solution.

Abstract: The present invention includes a composition for a silicon-containing material used as an etch mask for underlying layers. More specifically, the silicon-containing material may be used as an etch mask for a patterned imprinted layer comprising protrusions and recessions. To that end, in one embodiment of the present invention, the composition includes a hydroxyl-functional silicone component, a cross-linking component, a catalyst component, and a solvent. The epoxy compound is prepared by dissolving the raw-material biomass-derived compound in an aqueous alkali solution; adding epichlorohydrin to the solution and heating the mixture; and evaporating epichlorohydrin from the heated mixture and precipitating a biomass-derived epoxy compound, in which the aqueous alkali solution has a pH of 13.5 to 11.0. The biomass-derived epoxy compound has both high solubility in organic solvents and satisfactory heat resistance and can be manufactured in a high yield on the basis of the raw material through a less number of processes.

Abstract: An ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) solution is introduced into a tower vessel (1) from a first inlet (2) provided at an upper portion of the tower vessel (1). Water vapor is introduced into the tower vessel (1) from a second inlet (3) provided at a lower portion of the vessel (1). The EVOH solution moves downward in the vessel (1), while the water vapor moves upward. The EVOH solution is kept in counter-flow contact with the water vapor. Water is supplied from a water supplying portion (5) located between the first inlet (2) and a tower top (4), whereby a water layer is formed above the first inlet (2). A water/methanol vapor mixture is extracted from the tower top (4) and condensed in a condenser (6) to be thereby recovered in the form of a methanol aqueous solution. Droplets of the EVOH solution contained in the water/methanol vapor mixture are trapped in the water layer formed above the first inlet (2) and, therefore, are less liable to be introduced into the condenser (6).

Abstract: An ink-jet recording ink which is utilized for printing on a heated recording medium, wherein the ink contains at least (1) a pigment, (2) an ink-soluble resin of 2-10 weight % based on a solid content, (3) a water-soluble organic solvent, and (4) a silicone type or a fluorine type surfactant, and the ink-soluble resin and the water-soluble organic solvent satisfy the following conditions: 1) at least one type of the ink-soluble resin is provided with a carboxyl group as an acid group, and an acid value of not less than 80 and less than 300, and 2) the water-soluble organic solvent contains at least 5-15 weight % of solvent A, and 2-15 weight % of solvent B; solvent A: a glycol ether or 1,2-alkanediols, and solvent B: a cyclic solvent, a cyclic ester solvent or a dimethyl sulfoxide, containing a nitrogen or a sulfur atom.

Abstract: The speaker member includes: a base material; and a resin film layer laminated on the base material through an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer has a heat shrinkage ratio of 0.5 to 1.0%; the resin film layer has a heat shrinkage ratio of 0.8 to 1.3%; and the heat shrinkage ratio of the adhesive layer is smaller than the heat shrinkage ratio of the resin film layer. The method of manufacturing a speaker comprises the steps of: applying a predetermined resin composition on a release material; drying the resin composition, so as to form a resin film layer on the release material; applying a predetermined adhesive on the resin film layer, so as to form an adhesive layer; attaching together the resin film layer formed on the release material and a base material through the adhesive layer, so as to form a laminate; subjecting the laminate to aging; and molding the laminate subjected to aging by using a metal mold having a predetermined shape.
Abstract: A process for preparing a fluoropolymer dispersion that is substantially anionic fluorinated surfactant free includes adding to a fluoropolymer dispersion a nonionic surfactant having a cloud point (CP) between 40 and 80° C. in a concentration of 1.5% to 50% by weight of the fluoropolymer, heating the dispersion up to a temperature Tc in a range of CP±10°C., decanting the dispersion in a reactor at Tc until obtaining a lower aqueous phase containing a concentrated fluoropolymer dispersion and an upper aqueous phase substantially not containing the fluoropolymer dispersion, washing the decanted dispersion with a solution of water and nonionic surfactant having a concentration of the nonionic surfactant of 0.5% to 50% by weight of the fluoropolymer, removing the upper aqueous phase from the upper part of the reactor, and discharge and recovery of the fluoropolymer dispersion.
