Patent number: 6297302Abstract: Disclosed is a composition comprising a crosslinked product of a liquid composition which comprises (a) a fluorosilicone, (b) a crosslinking agent and (c) a thermal stabilizing agent comprising a reaction product of (i) a cyclic unsaturated-alkyl-group-substituted polyorganosiloxane, (ii) a linear unsaturated-alkyl-group-substituted polyorganosiloxane, and (iii) a metal acetylacetonate or metal oxalate compound. The crosslinked fluorosilicones can be employed as intermediate or outer layers of electrostatographic fuser members, electrostatographic intermediate transfer belt materials and the like. They are useful in applications wherein materials possessing desirable release characteristics, surface energies, electrical characteristics, oil resistance properties, or solvent resistance properties exhibited by fluorosilicone elastomers are desirable.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1999Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: George J. Patent number: 6294603Abstract: The present invention provides a metal salt-containing resin composition, which comprises (a) a hydrophilic polymer which is a polymer or copolymer of an ethylene oxide-containing monomer, and (b) 0.1 to 30% of a metal salt, based on the weight of the hydrophilic polymer. The resin composition of the present invention has long lasting antistatic properties and a lower surface resistivity than the hydrophilic polymer alone.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2000Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Assignee: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Yuung-Ching Sheen, Pin-Sheng Wang, Mei-Ling Tong, Ya-Hui Lin, Juh-Shyong Lee

Patent number: 6294120Abstract: A purging agent which contains an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and which satisfies the conditions specified by the equations (1) and (2) below: 20≧BT(120)≧0.1 (1) 500≧BT(250)/BT(120)≧1.5 (2), where BT(120) is weight loss (%) on heating in nitrogen at 120° C. for 24 hours, and BT(250) is weight loss (%) on heating in nitrogen at 250° C. for 6 hours, rapidly discharges residual thermoplastic resin containing EVOH from molding equipment, and also rapidly discharges itself when a fresh resin is fed again to the equipment. This leads to a remarkable reduction in loss due to residual purging agent. In addition, the purging agent causes only a small amount of resin to stick to the equipment, even after repeated purging. After purging, it is possible to restore normal operation within a short period of time.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1997Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Assignee: Kuraray Co., Ltd.Inventors: Taichi Negi, Syukiti Kawamura, Hiromichi Nakano, Satoshi Hirofuji
