  • Patent number: 5166251
Abstract: A corrosive resistant coating with deep drawability characteristics which is applied to a metal substrate as a wet film and then heated to dry and initiate curing to provide a protective coating tenaciously bonded to the substrate. The composition has a corrosion inhibiting powder metal, a drawing agent of polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE), a primary bonding resin, and a vehicle of solvents. Preferably, the coating composition also has a secondary organic resin and thixotropic, metal suspension and hydroscopic agents. The cured coating composition on a metal substrate, in most instances, eliminates the needs for additional die drawing compounds when deep cold drawing the coated metal substrate.

  • Patent number: 5162407
Abstract: A sealant composition especially useful for porous materials such as wood, concrete and mansonry is provided comprising: (a) a silanol-terminated polysiloxane having a molecular weight greater than about 2000; (b) a multifunctional silane having functional groups which condense with silanol groups in the presence of atmospheric moisture at room temperature to form a cross-linked polymer; and (c) a nonaqueous volatile solvent which is non-reactive with components (a) and (b).The sealant composition renders said materials waterproof by coating and filling in the pores of said material with cured silicone rubber product. In a preferred embodiment the composition also contains a metal-containing curing catalyst and a volatile or subliming chelating agent in an amount sufficient to prevent cure of the composition in the storage container prior to or during use.The composition may also comprise adhesion agents, surfactants and pigments.

  • Patent number: 5158606
Abstract: A printing ink composition having a high degree of rub-off resistance comprising (a) a dispersion of a pigment in a vehicle containing a C.sub.7 -C.sub.40 oil and (b) a polymer latex emulsified in said dispersion. When employed for printing at high speeds, an anti-misting compound such as tridecyl acid phosphate, phosphoric acid, glycerol, or propylene carbonate is preferentially added to the ink composition. Where cost is not of paramount concern, a polytetrafluoroethylene wax is preferentially added to the ink composition.
