Such curable rubber compositions are widely used in the production of cured rubber articles, such as tyres, belts and hoses. The process allows a high degree of grafting of the polyether to the polymer chains. Also disclosed is a reinforced rubber composition, especially intended for the manufacture of tires, comprising such a diene block copolymer which is intended to interact with the reinforcing filler. Such a rubber composition has improved hysteresis properties in the vulcanized state, while retaining satisfactory processing properties in the non-vulcanized state.

Abstract: Moisture-crosslinkable polymer compositions and moisture-crosslinked articles prepared therefrom are prepared from a composition predominantly comprising an ethylene-based polyolefin and a propylene-based polyolefin, in which both the ethylene-based and propylene-based polyolefins are present in amounts of less than 50% by weight. The composition also includes hydrolysable silane groups, which may be grafted onto the ethylene-based polyolefin, or a blend of the ethylene-based and propylene-based polyolefins, in the presence of a free radical initiator. The moisture-crosslinked articles further comprise a silanol condensation catalyst to permit the silane groups to form crosslinks in the presence of moisture. After crosslinking, the article may be heated, stretched and then cooled to render it heat shrinkable.

Abstract: The present invention relates to coating and printing ink compositions containing silylated polyether compounds comprising a hydrolysis-resistant bis-silyl hydrocarbylene group. More particularly, the silylated polyether compound comprising a bis-silyl hydrocarbylene group provides to the coating and ink compositions formulation flexibility over the entire pH range, leveling-and-flow and surface wetting, and are non-reactive with the other components of the coating and ink compositions, thereby providing long-term shelf-stability of formulated coatings and inks. These coating and ink compositions containing silylated polyether compounds do not release silicone materials and thereby provide articles treated with these coatings and ink compositions with uniform appearance and gloss.
