    Abstract: A polymer polyol (I) is provided that is formed of a polyol (A), polymer particles (B) obtained by polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated compound (b), and an active-hydrogen-containing compound (d) having an aromatic ring and having a number-average molecular weight of 150 to 2,000, wherein a content of (d) is 1 to 20% on the basis of a weight of (B). The polymer polyol of the present invention contains polymer particles having sufficiently small particle diameters, has a low viscosity, and has excellent handleability. A polyurethane resin obtained by using the polymer polyol of the present invention has excellent mechanical strengths such as elongation at break.

    Abstract: A medical adhesive comprises a hydrophilic urethane prepolymer (UP) obtained by reacting a fluorine-containing nonaromatic polyisocyanate component (A) and a polyol component (B) having a hydrophilic polyol (B1), and a phenolic radical scavenger (PRS). The content of (PRS) is preferably 0.01 to 3% by weight based on the weight of (UP). The content of oxyethylene groups in (B) is preferably 30 to 100% by weight based on the weight of the oxyalkylene groups in (B). Preferably, (B) is a mixture of a random copolymer obtained by addition of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to diols and polypropylene glycol. The content of isocyanate groups in the medical adhesive is 1 to 10% by weight based on the weight of (UP). The medical adhesive is suitable for bonding body tissues, such as lung, artery and heart in particular.

The method involves coating at least part (preferably at least 40%) of an area of a surface of a metal sheet article (preferably an aluminum foil sheet) with a substantially solvent-free silicone oil at an average coating application rate in a range of 1.5 to 10 mg/ft2 of the coated surface area. The coated sheet article is then preferably coiled. The coated sheet article is then heated in the presence of air or oxygen at a temperature of 250° C. or higher for a period of time of at least 10 minutes. The treated surface is both non-stick and food-friendly.
