Patent number: 6444740Abstract: The present invention provides silicone compositions, cured elastomers thereof demtonstrate improved resistance to oil. The compositions include a reactive silicone component, wherein the silicone component cures by way of an addition cure mechanism or a condensation cure mechanism; and a basic filler component to confer oil resistance to the cured elastomer. Where the reactive silicone component cures by way of an addition cure mechanism, an addition cure catalyst is also included. To that end, in one embodiment of the invention, the composition includes a vinyl-terminated silicone fluid, a hydrogen-functionalized silicone fluid; a basic filler to confer oil resistance to the cured elastomer and an addition cure catalyst. In another embodiment of the invention, the composition includes a hydroxy-terminated diorganopolysiloxane, a precipitated calcium carbonate, at least about 5% by weight of a composition comprising magnesium oxide particles having a mean particle size of about 0.5 &mgr;M to about 1.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2001Date of Patent: September 3, 2002Assignee: Loctite CorporationInventors: Alfred A. Patent number: 6429257Abstract: A mixture, casting system and method for forming a polyurethane product. The mixture typically includes a slurry including an alcohol containing at least two hydroxyl groups, and calcium carbonate. Typically, the calcium carbonate is present in the slurry in a range of between about 40% and 70% by weight. The mixture also includes an isocyanate mixed into the slurry such that isocyanate forms between about 10% and 50% by weight of the resulting mixture, the remainder of the resulting mixture being slurry. The mixture also may include a chain extender, cross-linking agent, or polymerization catalyst.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1999Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Assignee: Weyerhaeuser CompanyInventors: Richard L. Patent number: RE40571Abstract: The present invention provides a catalyst for polyester production capable of producing a polyester with high catalytic activity, a process for producing a polyester using the catalyst and a polyester produced thereby. The catalyst comprises a solid titanium compound obtained by dehydro-drying a hydrolyzate obtained by hydrolysis of a titanium halide and which has a molar ratio (OH/Ti) of a hydroxyl group (OH) to titanium (Ti) exceeding 0.09 and less than 4. In the process, the polyester is obtained by polycondensing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, or an ester-forming derivative thereof, and an aliphatic diol, or ester-forming derivative thereof, in the presence of the catalyst. The resulting polyester has excellent transparency and tint, a titanium content of 1 to 100 ppm, a magnesium content of 1 to 200 ppm and a magnesium to titanium weight ratio of not less than 0.01.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2004Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.Inventors: Takeshi Ohmatsuzawa, Fujito Ehara, Hideshi Hori, Kazuo Toyota, Kenzaburou Fukutani, Junichi Imuta, Akiyoshi Shimizu, Takayuki Onogi, Seiji Noda, Masayuki Sakai, Shoji Hiraoka, Koji Nakamachi, Michio Tsugawa, Satoru Miyazoe
