Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a biomass-resource-derived polyurethane, which comprises: reacting a dicarboxylic acid and an aliphatic diol to produce a polyester polyol; and reacting the polyester polyol and a polyisocyanate compound, wherein the dicarboxylic acid contains at least one component derived from biomass resources, a content of an organic acid in the dicarboxylic acid is more than 0 ppm and not more than 1,000 ppm relative to the dicarboxylic acid, and a pKa value of the organic acid at 25° C. is not more than 3.7.
Abstract: The present invention provides a copolymer obtainable by condensation of i) 90 to 99.5 mol %, based on components i to ii, of succinic acid; ii) 0.5 to 10 mol %, based on components i to ii, of one or more C2-C8 dicarboxylic acids; iii) 100 mol %, based on components i to ii, of 1,3-propanediol or 1,4-butanediol, and having a DIN 53728 viscosity number in the range from 100 to 450 mL/g. The invention further provides a process for producing the copolymers, polymer blends comprising these copolymers and also for the use of these copolymers.

Abstract: A method of synthesizing polyester toner resins comprises: polycondensing polycarboxylic acids, polyols and free fatty acids to form low molecular weight polyester resins with alkenyl group or hydroxyl group or a combination of both; wherein at least one of said polycarboxylic acids, said polyols or said free fatty acids derive from natural oils; crosslinking the polyester via alkenyl group with radical initiator and vinyl monomer or via hydroxyl group with diisocyanate to generate polyester of higher molecular weight and melting point; obtaining a first fraction with a molecular weight ranged between 3000 and 15000 and a second fraction with a molecular weight larger than 15000; and combining said first fraction with said second fraction to form said polyester toner resins.
