Material Contains Boron Compound Other Than Boron Trihalide Or Non-metal Organic Complex Of Boron Trihalide Patents (Class 526/195)
  • Patent number: 4153769
Abstract: The preparation of a photoconductor which comprises the polymerization reaction product of an N-alkenyl carbazole or derivative thereof such as N-vinyl carbazole, in the presence of a catalyst in the form of a monochelate or muli-chelate of boron in which the chelate catalyzes the polymerization reaction and remains in the polymerization product as a sensitizer for the photoconductive properties of the organic polymer.

  • Patent number: 3968093
Abstract: A process for producing a partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide which has a high molecular weight and high water solubility and can be suitably used as a flocculant for water treatment and a size for paper manufacture comprising polymerizing an aqueous solution of an acrylamide monomer in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide such as sodium hydroxide and boric acid, whereby a partial hydrolysis of the polymer formed is also conducted substantially simultaneously with the polymerization. In an additional embodiment, a maturing of the polyacrylamide produced can be conducted by continuing to heat the polymer solution to increase the hydrolysis percentage.
