    Abstract: The present invention relates to coating material compositions comprising at least one polyhydroxyl group-containing compound (A), at least one polyisocyanate group-containing compound (B) having free and/or blocked isocyanate groups, and at least one catalyst (D) based on a zinc-amidine complex which is preparable by reaction of 1.0 moles of at least one zinc(II) biscarboxylate with 2.0 moles of at least one amidine where R5=hydrogen and R1, R2, R3, and R4 are each identical or different radicals, R1 and R3 being hydrogen or an alkyl radical or an aryl radical, and R2 and R4 being an alkyl radical or an aryl radical, characterized in that the coating material composition further comprises at least one monomeric aromatic, optionally substituted carboxylic acid (S) whose carboxyl group is in conjugation with a ?-electron system.
