  • Patent number: 9089847
Abstract: Polycrystalline silicon in the form of chunks packed in plastic bags containing a mass of at least 5 kg, including chunks of size from 20 to 200 mm, wherein any fines fraction in the plastic bag is less than 900 ppmw, preferably less than 300 ppmw, more preferably less than 10 ppmw. The polycrystalline silicon, after comminution of a silicon rod obtained by CVD (Siemens process), is sorted and classified, optionally dedusted and then metered and packed. Metering and packing units include elements for removing fines or small particles during metering and during packing. The packing unit includes an energy absorber or a reservoir vessel which enables sliding or slipping of the silicon chunks into the plastic bag. Gas flow generated within the plastic bag after the bag has been filled transports the dust or small particles out of the bag, and these are sucked out with a suction device.

  • Publication number: 20150069056
Abstract: A bottle made of polyethylene terephthalate does likely undergo that a gas having a small molecular weight or volatile component escapes from the bottle in a short time in comparison with a glass bottle, steel can, and aluminum can. For a countermeasure, a simple operation prevents hydrogen molecules, helium gas, and volatile component from scattering and being lost. A container filled with gas, or liquid or viscous fluid in which gas is dissolved, or metal granules adsorbing gas is given a cap, and then, the whole of the container including the cap is packed with a metal foil laminated film superior in gas-barrier properties to be vacuum packaged.

  • Publication number: 20140331615
Abstract: A box with a sliding opening has an integral liner to keep pourable contents fresh and dry. The box has a slide that is moveable by a user's thumb across the opening to open and close the box and the liner during the same operation to avoid risking tearing the box liner. The user can open the box and the liner to pour out the contents in one motion and easily close and seal the box and the liner so the contents do not spill out. Advantageously, the box is formed from a single blank piece of cardboard or similar stock, and a single planar sheet of moisture impervious material adhered onto the blank which folds with the blank to form a sealed liner or bag, such that the slide ends up inside the box for easy assembly with a resulting sealed bag inside.

  • Patent number: 8756901
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved packaging method and apparatus. An item enclosed in the V-Pack is shipped or stored in such a way that there is no extra space inside. This is accomplished by specially formulated foam included in each box. In this manner, internal damage to goods is rendered impossible. In addition, an extra layer of foam protects the item or items from damage by external elements, such as moisture and extreme cold or warm temperatures. Any excess air inside the chamber where the items are located, is removed by an external pump, creating a vacuum effect, which provides for the item's safe storage conditions. To facilitate the vacuum action, a valve is provided in two sections on the packaging box.

  • Patent number: 8713897
Abstract: A system and method for inspecting a filled prescription order is described. The prescription order includes a first plurality of tablets that is different from a second plurality of tablets. Additionally, the first plurality of tablets has a particular shape and a color that is different from the second plurality of tablets. The system and method generates an order that is communicated to a filling system. A code is then generated at the filling system when the filling system can fill the order. An automated inspection at visual wavelengths is performed for each of the pouches at an inspection station. The automated inspection at visual wavelengths inspects a color and a shape of each tablet. The method then proceeds to scan the code at the inspection station to verify that the correct pouches are associated with the tablets that correspond to the prescription order.
