Abstract: The invention relates to a lid ring (20?) for production of a tear-off lid, whereby a hot-sealing coating (62) is only applied to the edge (68) of the dispensing opening (25). A material saving is thus possible relative to conventional full-surface application. A coating different from the hot-sealing coating can form the lid ring surface outside the hot-sealing coating.

Abstract: In the case of nested containers to be filled by a filling station, a gripping device grasps an entire row of empty containers and conveys it to a weighing station, where the containers are weighed. Following weighing, all containers of the row are simultaneously filled and then reweighed. The containers are then reinserted into the nest and sealed, without being refilled, which allows checking the operation of the filling station without wasting product.

Abstract: Deep draw packaging includes placing an object (C) in a concave container portion (1) formed by molding a film with small shrinkability (A), that is a film having a residual thermal shrinkage rate at 100° C. of 1 to 15 %. The film (A) is formed by stretching a film having deep draw moldability and then thermally relaxing the film. The film has a surface which is formed of a heat sealable material which becomes the inner wall of the container portion. The concave container portion (1) is thereafter transferred to to a vacuum packaging apparatus (5) where it is covered by a cover portion (2) formed of a film (B) which can be heat welded to the film (A). A side face portion (11) and a bottom face portion (12) of the concave container portion (1) are thermally shrunk into close contact with the object (C). Less curling is exhibited when an upper peripheral portion (13) of the concave container portion (1) is sealed with the film (B).

Abstract: A method for preparing dental instruments for sterilization in which the instruments are put into a relatively large see-through heat sealable plastic bag. The bag is placed over a surface of an impulse heater and an arm is lowered to clamp the bag and apply two heat seals across the bag; one heat seal to enclose the instruments and a second parallel heat seal. A knife carried by the arm is used to cut between the two heat seals. This cutting operation forms a custom sized closed bag containing the instruments to be sterilized that is placed into an autoclave and sterilized. The cutting also forms a second bag, smaller than the original bag that is reserved for use in a subsequent packaging operation.
