Abstract: A method for installing lock levers for a beverage filling machine includes supplying a plurality of lock levers, including a plurality of regular size lock levers with a first dimension associated with the height of an engagement surface relative to the axis of rotation of the lever, and at least one other lock lever having a second dimension for the height such that the second dimension is reduced or increased relative to the first dimension, installing a plurality of regular size lock levers on the beverage filling machine, determining if the engagement surface of any of the regular size lock levers is not positioned at a predetermined position and thereby non-conforming, then installing at the location of any non-conforming regular size lock lever one of the at least one other lock lever having a second dimension to position the engagement surface thereof substantially at the predetermined position.
Abstract: A method of removing a residual gas from inside a conventional shipping container is disclosed. The method first involves the step of accessing the container by opening a door of the container and fitting a panel to the open door space. Next the method involves extracting at least some of the residual gas present in the container via an outlet valve located at the panel using an external suction pump. Finally the method involves providing a flow of a flushing gas into the container via an inlet valve located at the panel to flush residual gas from the container. The total pressure of gases in the container can be monitored and controlled by adjusting the flow of gases in the inlet and outlet holes or valves.
Abstract: The invention is directed to lock levers for use in an automatic beverage machine for filling cans for example. The lock lever may have an L-shaped configuration with a first and second leg, and a first engagement surface on a side of the second leg which transitions to a second engagement surface at the distal end of the second leg. The lock lever is selectively rotated between operational and non-operational positions, and the first engagement surface transitions into the second engagement surface. The transition from the first engagement surface to the second engagement surface positions the second engagement surface at a predetermined height without the first or second engagement surface extending above the predetermined height.
Abstract: A method and device for the manufacture of packaging units or disposable single-use kegs in which a disposable fitting is retained on a blow-molded body by an inwardly-projecting flange structure which engages with an outwardly-projecting flange structure on the blow-molded body.
Abstract: A device connects a storage container to a working reservoir for transferring a substance from the storage container to the working reservoir. The device includes a housing which is joined to the storage container with either a fixed connection or a coupling means. A passage opening is formed on the housing, and a shutter that is movably connected to the housing serves to close the passage opening. The shutter has a connector port for each working reservoir. The shutter moves in a rotary or sliding manner relative to the housing between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the passage opening is closed off by the shutter, and in the open position the interior space of the storage container is connected through the passage opening to the interior space of the working reservoir which is seated in the at least one connector port.
Abstract: A valve assembly for use with a self-sealing collapsible storage bag, the valve assembly having a first portion comprising a housing that has a sealing surface and contains a valve mechanism. A second portion has a sealing surface that is configured to mate with the sealing surface of the first portion. A snap mechanism is configured to allow the first and second portions to be snapped together with their respective sealing surfaces facing each other to form a substantially airtight seal. In operation, the first and second portions are positioned on opposing sides of a panel of a plastic storage bag, and snapped together so as to sandwich the panel between the first and second portions of the valve assembly. The plastic bag is pierced in the area of the valve assembly either during installation of the valve assembly, or later by insertion of a nozzle. Gas or fluid such as air may be selectively removed from or added to the interior of the storage bag through the valve mechanism.
Abstract: Replacement lock levers and related methods are disclosed which accommodate adjustment to acceptable tolerances of the force applied to cans being filled by the platform lift cylinder assemblies of the automatic beverage filling machine, due to an eccentricity of the replacement lock levers.

Abstract: The apparatus comprises a powder dispenser portion with an outlet port which opens into a loading chamber. A slide gate valve assembly selectively closes the port and a disc valve assembly is provided above the slide gate valve assembly. Containers are loaded into the loading chamber and are located beneath the port and are then purged with inert gas. The slide gate valve assembly and disc valve assembly are then opened to allow container to be filled with ultra fine powder.

Abstract: Several vacuum process steps are applied to substrates such as a wafer using a vacuum container for storing and transporting the substrates under vacuum. The vacuum container comprises a container body having a main opening for inserting a substrate and taking out the substrate, a lid engageable with the container body for closing and sealing the main opening of the container body, and a gate provided on one of the container body and the lid for performing at least one of evacuating an interior of the vacuum container and raising the pressure of the interior of the vacuum container to ambient.
Abstract: Devices for packaging selected items. More particularly, the present invention relates to devices for continuously packaging selected items in a controlled atmosphere enclosure. Further, the present invention relates to devices for continuously sealing containers containing selected items in a controlled atmosphere.
Abstract: An apparatus for aseptically filling and sealing bottles with a liquid preparation includes a plurality of treatment stations in which bottles are successively placed in bottle holding devices, evacuated and flushed or rinsed with an inert gas, filled with the liquid preparation, sealed and removed from the bottle holding devices, all in a system which is sealed from the exterior. The transporting system is adapted to provide a successive, relative movement between the bottles in the holding devices and the treatment stations. The system, which is sealed from the exterior, is provided with known sealing lock arrangements for the sterile introduction of empty bottles, liquid preparation and connections for the discharge of filled and sealed bottles, all while maintaining sterile conditions in the apparatus.

Abstract: An apparatus for the continuous preparation and packing of freeze-dried material, having a horizontally movable web and successively disposed forming, freezing, freeze-drying, heat-sealing, punching and transport devices. The freeze-drying devices consist of two successively disposed freezers having separate refrigerant circuits, and a primary drying tunnel and a secondary drying tunnel having separate evacuating and heating systems and hermetically closable air locks located ahead of the primary drying tunnel, between the primary and secondary drying tunnels, and at the end of the secondary drying tunnel the air locks comprise compressible and expandable walls, retractable tables and upwardly and downwardly opening slide valves for sealing the primary drying tunnel hermetically from the secondary drying tunnel. An advancing mechanism is coupled to the air locks and movable in the horizontal direction for advancing the movable web in conjunction with the expansion and compression of the air lock walls.
