    Abstract: The invention provides novel esters of glycerol, in which one of the OH groups of the glycerol is esterified with a phenolcarboxylic acid, while the two other OH groups are esterified with phosphoric or phosphorous acid, substituted by long-chain alcohols, amines, mercaptans or phenol compounds. The products are suitable as light and heat stabilizers for plastics. They are distinguished by a high resistance to hydrolysis and extraction.

These ultraviolet stabilizers may also be incorporated into the organic compositions in the polymer melt or dissolved in the polymer dope, or coated on the exterior of the molded article, film or extruded fiber.
