  • Patent number: 8876927
Abstract: A radiator screen arrangement (10) for a combine harvester is provided. A screen (12) through which air, which is to pass through a radiator, is drawn by a fan. Rotating means (16) are provided for rotating the screen. Blanking means (18), past which the screen is rotated, provides a blanked off area of the screen which is not subject to the induction pressure of the fan and from which particles can therefore be more easily removed. The arrangement is characterised in that the blanking means has a leading edge (18a) which is of generally spiral shape so that the particles on the outer surface of the screen which enter the blanked-off area can reach the outer periphery (12d) of the rotating screen without being exposed to the induction pressure of the fan and hence have an improved chance of being detached from the screen.

  • Patent number: 8021467
Abstract: A cleaning process for filtration material of a gas filter is disclosed. A first step hinders the gas flow from passing through the filtration material by closing the clean gas side of a single segment or a row of filter segments. A second step provides a slow gas flow to the closed filter segments to cause a reverse gas flow through the filtration material. A third step opens an impulse valve for an ultra short time to create a compressed gas impulse for disengaging the particles which did not fall off the filtration material during the second step of the cleaning process. A fourth step shuts off the reverse flow gas supply. A device for separating one or several filter segments from the clean gas side of the filter filtration material is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7892320
Abstract: Disclosed herein are an automatically replaceable apparatus for collecting byproducts in semiconductor producing equipment and a control method thereof. The apparatus includes several trap units mounted to a vertical shaft at regular angular intervals and rotating in response to a driving direction of a servo motor. Upper and lower plates support the vertical shaft, and connect byproduct inlet and outlet ports, cleaning-water supply and discharge ports, and dry-gas supply and exhaust ports to the respective trap units. Trap and plate coupling means are extended at normal times to air-tightly seal gaps between the upper and lower plates and the trap units, and contracted when the trap units are rotated in a predetermined direction for the replacement. The servo motor is mounted to a lower surface of the lower plate and rotates the trap units within a predetermined angular range. A control unit controls the operation of the components.

  • Patent number: 6749405
Abstract: A reversible pivoting vane rotary compressor includes a housing having a generally cylindrical chamber defined by an inner wall. A rotor is mounted eccentrically within the chamber to define about the rotor a generally crescent shaped compression chamber, which narrows from a main chamber region to a constricted chamber region, which rotor has a circumferential surface. A pair of reversible intake and exhaust ports are connected communicably with the constricted chamber region. Each port selectively and alternately introduces air into the constricted chamber region while the other port exhausts air from the constricted region. At least one adjoining pair of curved vanes are pivotably attached to the rotor and extend in generally opposite arcuate directions from the rotor into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6572682
Abstract: A Diesel particulate filter cartridge system for filtering particulate matter and nitrogen oxide from a flow of air containing particular matter includes a filter support plate with a plurality of cylindrical electrically regenerable filter media members connected thereto. A NOx trap is also provided that is either incorporated directly into the filter media members or provided as a separate structure in close proximity to the filter media members. A valve assembly includes a number of independently actuatable damper valves that correspond to a number of through holes in the filter support plate. When actuated, the damper valves limiting flow of air through a corresponding through hole and filter media member connected thereto. An outer housing is disposed about the valve assembly and filter media members to contain them in a compact package. A programmable computer control module shuts off the flow of air through a filter media member and selectively electrically regenerates it.

  • Patent number: 6500387
Abstract: An apparatus and method for ultraviolet irradiation of air for the purpose of removing contaminants from that air is disclosed. A U-shaped ultraviolet bulb enshrouded within a quartz tube provides enhanced contaminant destruction characteristics. By combining a plurality of those bulbs in a chamber that is of polished aluminum, and further combining aluminum filters therewith, added irradiation enhancement is achieved. Further provided are baffles or baffling proximate the ultraviolet bulbs that cause the air to go turbulent thus drawing the air closer to the ultraviolet bulb and further enhancing the contaminant destruction characteristics. Moreover disclosed is treatment of substrates with a chemical agent that facilitates the arrest of contaminants from the air onto the substrate for further irradiation of the contaminants from the bulbs. This further irradiation breaks down the arrested contaminants thus providing the substrate with a self-cleansing effect.

  • Patent number: 5006135
Abstract: A self cleaning screen particularly for an engine cooling system comprises a housing having a screen front wall and a rear wall in which there is provided a circular opening. The housing is divided by divider plates connecting between the front and rear walls and extending outwardly from the circular opening to outer side edges of the housing. A baffle is mounted at the center of the opening and is rotatable by a fin or an electric motor. The baffle includes a triangular front plate for closing off a part of the screen aligned with the opening together with a side plate portion which closes off the area defined between the divider plates. As the baffle rotates therefore a portion of the screen extending radially from the centre of the opening to the side edge is closed off so that air does not flow through that area allowing filter debris to fall from the screen.
