Patent number: 8617276Abstract: An air filter cartridge has Z-media and a gasket arrangement with a perimeter gasket member against the downstream flow face and a side gasket member adjacent to at least a partial extension of a first side panel. The side gasket member includes no portion against second, third, and fourth side panels of the air filter cartridge. The air filter cartridge can be used in a dust collector having a tubesheet and a frame arrangement extending from the tubesheet. The perimeter gasket member seals against the frame arrangement and the side gasket member seals against the tubesheet. A method of servicing includes orienting the air filter cartridge against a guide ramp and moving the filter cartridge until the side gasket member is engaged against the tubesheet sealing surface.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2010Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Donaldson Company, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Donald Raether, Eli Ross, Rodney Slade Switzer, Gary Richard Nygaard

Patent number: 8608834Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a system for removing matter from a filtering device of a work machine includes a gas pressurization assembly. An element of the gas pressurization assembly is removably attachable to a first orifice of the filtering device without removing the filtering device from a work machine to which the filtering device is connected. The system also includes a heat source fluidly connected to the gas pressurization assembly.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2012Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Cheryl Lynn Sellers, David Thaler, Mark T. Patent number: 8591739Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for separating particles and dissolved matter from a fluid stream. Specifically, the present invention includes a first pressure source which transports untreated fluid into a separator annulus with a filter element disposed therein. The untreated fluid is placed under appropriate pressure sufficient to produce turbulent flow, increased particle kinetics and/or cavitation physics allowing the desired fluid to penetrate and pass into and through the filter media. The filtered fluid is then transported to a collection tank. The contaminant particulate matter retained on the exterior of the filter media may be removed by the instantaneous reverse pressurization of the separator annulus by a second pressure source thereby removing the contaminant particles away from contact with the filter media, and which may then be transported to a waste collection tank or a concentrator for further treatment.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2007Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: Tervita, LLCInventors: Raymond Ford Johnson, Markley Dean Johnson, Rodney Grage

Publication number: 20130263737Abstract: A process chamber is configured to contain a work piece in a controlled atmosphere and to perform a process that emits pyrophoric particulates. A closed recirculating loop connected with the process chamber recirculates gas defining the controlled atmosphere through the process chamber. A filter in the closed recirculating loop captures the generated pyrophoric particulates in the recirculating gas. A valve set has a work configuration defining the closed recirculating loop including the connection of the process chamber with the filter, and a filter regeneration configuration in which the filter is blocked off from the process chamber and is connected with an exhaust. A work piece is loaded into the process chamber. With the valve set in the work configuration, the process is performed on the loaded work piece. Thereafter, regeneration gas containing oxygen is delivered to the filter with the valve set in the regeneration configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2012Publication date: October 10, 2013Inventors: Jeffrey T. Patent number: 8545605Abstract: A fabric filter bag (50) and cage (10) system for use in a bag house (66) for industrial process gas stream particulate removal. The bag house (66) includes an inlet (68) for process gas flow into an interior space (65) thereof, at least one fabric filter bag (50) and cage (10) system within the interior space (65) for filtering the process gas as it flows therethrough, and an outlet (70) for flow of cleaned process gas out of the interior space (65) of the system. The subject fabric filter bag (50) and cage (10) system provides about an additional 14% filter material per bag as compared to like sized round filter bags, thereby effectively reducing the size of bag house (66) required to achieve a particular air to cloth (A/C) ratio. Reducing the size of the bag house (66) required to achieve a particular A/C ratio significantly reduces capital costs typically associated therewith.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2010Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Assignee: ALSTOM Technology LtdInventors: Michael T.
