    Abstract: A displaceable purifier body improves the delivery of high purity gases from gas tanks or cylinders by providing a large flow area for filling the cylinder or tank with gas while preventing contamination of gases during the filling procedure and by automatically engaging the purifier for purification when withdrawing gas from the tank or cylinder. The purifier body or a separate seal body has an arrangement for reciprocal movement between a filling position wherein the gas entering the cylinder by-passes the purifier body and an engaged position wherein the purifier body moves towards the cylinder head assembly to prevent by-passing of exiting gases around the purifier. This arrangement offers little restriction to gas flow entering the cylinder and allows rapid filling of cylinders to make gas delivery more economical.

The upper end of the tubular inlet extends into the upper housing and is provided with a flat top portion and a series of openings between angled vanes so as to direct air flow entering the tubular inlet evenly around the circumference of the angle vanes and through a HEPA filter sealingly secured between the lower and upper housings. Air flows through the HEPA air filter and out slotted openings in opposed ends of the exhaust filter. The flow of air at one end passes by a rotary blade having an indicator element thereon, which indicates the condition of the HEPA filter, and when the exhaust filter must be replaced.

The discharge openings preferably increase in size moving downstream in the inlet chamber, i.e. away from the entry into the inlet chamber. A wheeled, multifilter carriage is provided to clean smoke coming from the funnel before it is exhausted into the surrounding air.

    Abstract: A rotary drum filter having a reduced amount of fluff in the enclosure during operation. The volume of the enclosure and the mass flow rate of fluff coming into the enclosure are taken into account when determining a proper speed for the rotary drum so that fluff build up on the filter medium is reduced. By properly balancing these three items, fluff may be removed from the filter enclosure at a rate which is equal to or greater than the rate at which the fluff enters the enclosure. The structure of the rotary drum enclosure provides a high velocity, smooth air flow at the bottom of the filter enclosure. The incoming air and fluff are distributed over the entire length of the floor, so that turbulence is created along the length of the floor. In addition, the floor is curved so that there are no joining positions along the floor where dust can accumulate, and so all fluff entering the enclosure is blown to the top of the enclosure.

Two openings are provided in the bottom surface of the duct. One opening sealingly engages an opening in the engine air cleaner and the second opening sealingly engages a cab air intake duct, when the hood is in a closed position.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an adsorbent vessel adapted to contain an adsorbent and form an adsorbent bed for use in adsorbing a component of a multicomponent gas mixture during a pressure swing adsorption process. In accordance with such process the adsorbent bed is regenerated by desorbing the adsorbed component. The adsorption capacity of the adsorbent decreases with decreasing temperature and the pressure swing adsorption process produces a cold spot of reduced temperature within a region of the adsorbent bed. In order to combat the resulting decreased adsorption capacity, a convective heat exchanger extends into the cold spot to raise the temperature of the cold spot. The convective heat exchanger is provided with at least two passes for the entering multi-component gas mixture or the outward bound desorbed component to transverse and thereby transfer heat to the cold spot.
