  • Patent number: 7150773
Abstract: A liquid device for extracting liquids entrained in gasses flowing through a pipeline consists of a housing having a separation and collection chamber for the extracted liquids and a flow through passage for the gasses being dried. As the gasses flow into an extractor insert, they first flow through a diffuser which aligns the gas flow and reduces the pressure in the flow. As the gasses hit the concave end of the extractor insert they are forced into a spiraling flow within the insert. The combination of reduced pressure and the spin cause any entrained liquids to be spun out of the gas flow. Both the gas and the liquids them pass through apertures in the lower surface of the extractor insert, with the liquids dropping into the collection chamber for later evacuation, while the gasses rise to an outlet port which exits to the pipeline.

The grill assembly prevents the filth from being drawn into a vacuum-generating device of the vacuum cleaner and comprises a cylindrical grill body having upper and lower openings, with the outer diameter of the upper part being greater than the outer diameter of the lower part, and a plurality of passages formed at the cylindrical grill body.

Abstract: A filtration device for use in filtering air used to purge a vapor storage canister used in connection with a fuel vapor recovery system of an automobile. The device includes a housing. In some instances, the housing may be integral to another component. The housing has a chamber having an arcuate inner surface. Air flowing into the chamber through an inlet port strikes the arcuate interior surface and is redirected such that the air rotates in said chamber. The centrifugal force of the rotating air filters out any contaminants of sufficient mass contained therein. The filtered air is removed via an outlet port positioned near the longitudinal-axis of the chamber. Contaminants removed from the air fall due to gravity or a secondary air flow pattern into a collection portion of the housing.

Abstract: A cyclone dust collecting apparatus includes at least a cyclone body, a filth-collection portion and, a filth-guiding unit. The cyclone body separates filth from air drawn through an air-suction passage and discharges cleaned air through an air-discharging passage. The filth-collecting portion, which is removably connected to the cyclone body by a filth-discharging passage, collects the filth separated by the cyclone body. The filth-guiding unit guides the filth in the cyclone body to the filth-discharging passage. The filth separated from the air may easily flow to the filth-collecting portion and this separation prevents the filth from remaining in the cyclone body.

Abstract: A cyclone dust collecting apparatus of a vacuum cleaner has: a cylindrical-type cyclone body for centrifugally separating dust entrained in air drawn into the cyclone body from the outside through a suction pipe and for discharging clean air through a discharge pipe, a dust collector disposed at a lower part of the cyclone body in order to collect dust centrifugally separated from the air and a plurality of dust backflow and rotation prevention members protruding from the bottom of the dust collector for a predetermined length in order to prevent the dust collected at the bottom of the dust collector from being circulated in the cyclone body. According to the cyclone dust collecting apparatus of the vacuum cleaner having the above construction, circulation of the dust collected at the bottom of the dust collector is prevented, and the dust is not discharged through the discharge pipe, thus the dust collection efficiency of the cyclone dust collecting apparatus is improved.
