  • Patent number: 8603208
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle air filter system with pipe elements for feed and discharge of an air flow, particularly for an internal combustion engine. To remove water which is filtered out of the air flow, under the bottom of the housing of the air filter a tube element is attached. Since this assembly region is poorly accessible, there is the risk that the tube element will be kinked or pinched during installation and thus water cannot properly drain out. In order to enable smooth and reliable assembly of the tube element, the tube element according to the invention is attached to the pipe element by means of carrier elements. In the assembly of the pipe element the tube element is automatically located at the proper position in the installation space. Here it is protected against kinking by its connection to the pipe element.

Abstract: A muffler is provided that air or gas flows through to attenuate acoustic oscillations and reduce sound levels. An inner vortex and an outer vortex are created within the device that reduce noise within the rotating flow of gases. The gases flow in the outer vortex from an inlet in a live end of the housing toward a dead end of the housing. A projection is provided in the dead end of the housing that creates a low pressure area that causes the formation of the inner vortex flowing from the dead end toward the live end to an outlet.

  • Patent number: 8377160
Abstract: A cyclonic dust collector arrangement employs a cyclone that has a conic body formed of a conic wall. An upper divider plate closes off the upper end of the conic body, with a vortex tube descending from a central passage in the divider plate. The conic body has a narrow nose at a lower end so that the upper divider plate and the lower nose define a cyclonic chamber within the conic body. The inlet conduit penetrates the conic wall below the divider plate. The fan chamber of the separator is mounted above the divider plate, and serves to induce air flow from the inlet conduit into the cyclonic chamber, and through said vortex tube into the fan chamber. The air is discharged through a final filter. This construction has reduced manufacture costs and improved dust separation.
