Abstract: Phosphobrominated polyetherpolyols which contain in their molecule oxyalkylene radicals bound to phosphorus atoms in the phosphate or phosphonate state and 1,4-dioxy-2,3-dibromo-2-butylene radicals in which the ratio of the total number of oxyalkylene radicals to the total number of phosphorus atoms is equal to at least 7.These polyetherpolyols can be used as flame-retarding reactive additives in the manufacture of flame-retardant flexible polyurethane foams involving polyetherpolyols, the foams possessing good comfort-conferring properties.
Abstract: An organo phosphoric acid dithioester is produced by reacting either O-ethyl.S-normalpropyldithiophosphoric acid salt and substituted ethylmercaptoethyl halide or O-ethyl.S-normalpropylthiophosphoric acid halide and substituted ethylmercaptoethylmercaptans. Said organo phosphoric acid dithioester has excellent insecticidal activity against a wide variety of insects.

Abstract: Included are the title phosphorate compounds, and a process to prepare them comprising contacting a carbylphosphorate acid halide with a carbyloxide. For example, (3-chloro-2,2-bis(bromomethyl)propyl)bis(ethyl)phosphorate can be prepared with 3,3-bis(bromomethyl)oxetane and bis(ethyl)chloridophosphorate. The compounds are useful flame retardants for polyurethanes, especially flexible foams because, for example, substantially non-scorching and non-odoriferous flame-retardant flexible foams can be readily prepared with the compounds. Also included is a method for inducing scorch in polyurethanes, which can be used to generally determine polyurethane formulations which are prone to not scorch in commercial production.

Abstract: A process for the beneficiation of base metal sulfide mineral values from base metal sulfide ores with selective rejection of gangue sulfide minerals at pH values below about 10.0 by froth flotation is disclosed. The process includes the use of a new and improved collector which at pH values below about 10.0 exhibits unexpectedly high collector activity for base metal sulfide minerals of copper, nickel, molybdenum, cobalt and zinc and selectively rejects gangue sulfide minerals such as pyrite and pyrrhotite. The collector for base metal sulfide mineral values for use in the process comprises at least one diorganomonothiophosphinate compound having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each, independently, selected from saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbyl radicals, alkyl polyether radicals, and aromatic radicals, and such radicals, optionally and independently, substituted with polar groups selected from halogen, nitrile and nitro groups; or wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.
Abstract: An adduct of a heteroatomic monomer, e.g., gamma-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane and a monoahl, e.g., a monohydroxyl polyalkylene oxide or a polyahl, e.g., a polypropylene glycol, is usefully employed in the preparation of stable copolymer dispersions of the type used in the production of polyurethane foams and polyurethane elastomers. The copolymer dispersion is prepared by addition copolymerization of (1) the adduct with (2) ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s), e.g., styrene or mixture thereof with acrylonitrile, while (1) and (2) are dispersed or dissolved in an excess of a polyahl, i.e., an active hydrogen polyfunctional compound.
Abstract: New phospholipid derivatives represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio or alkylsulfonyl;R.sup.2 is hydrogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, lower alkanoyloxy or lower alkylcarbamoyloxy;n is 0 or 1;R.sup.3 is hydroxy or protected hydroxy; andR.sup.4 is lower alkoxy or lower alicyclic-oxy group which is substituted with 2 or more hydroxy or protected hydroxy groups, and may be substituted with lower alkoxy or another alicyclic-oxy group having two or more hydroxy or protected hydroxy groups, in which the alicyclic ring may contain an oxygen atom;and pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which exhibit antitumor activity.
