Abstract: A follower assembly of a cam assembly for a harvester reel including a baffle, a compressible member adjacent the baffle, and a roller spacer adjacent the compressible member. The follower assembly further includes a tubular cam follower housing the roller spacer, and a fastener extending through the tubular cam follower, the roller spacer, the compressible member and the baffle. The resultant follower assembly provides a construction which minimizes peening of the baffle, whereby the fastener maintains its clamp load such that the cam followers maintain engagement with the cam track and the potential for breakage of the fastener is minimized.
Abstract: A header for an agricultural vehicle includes: a header frame; a flexible cutter supported by the header frame and including a plurality of cutting edges; a reel including a plurality of reel sections movably supported by the header frame, each of the reel sections including a plurality of tines and being independently movable from the other reel sections; and at least one rigid link connecting the flexible cutter to one of the reel sections, the at least one rigid link being configured to transmit flexing forces acting on the flexible cutter to the connected one reel section such that a substantially constant separation is maintained between the flexible cutter and the connected one reel section.

Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustment arrangement for a reel tine carrier (5) supporting reaping tines (8) for a cereal cutting device. The reaping tines (8) are mounted on rotational tine carriers (5). The adjustment is carried out around an adjustment axis (9). The reel rotates around an axis of rotation (2). To adjust the reaping tines (8), a first control curve (19) is kept stationary relative to the reel (1). Each tine carrier (5) is provided with a control lever (16). The control lever is pivotably supported on the reel (1). One end of the control lever is supported on the first control curve (19). A pulling mechanism (11) is provided for each control lever (16). The pulling mechanism (11) is attached to one end on the control lever (16) and is guided around a control disc (10) mounted on the tine carrier (5). The other end of the pulling mechanism is fixed to a spring element (14). The spring element is fixed on the holding star 4 of the reel.

Abstract: A header for a harvesting machine having a frame, a cutterbar operable to a cut standing crop and mounted on the front of the frame, and a reel also mounted on the frame and operable to sweep crop material towards and over the cutterbar, the cutterbar being adjustable relative to the frame in a fore-and-aft direction, is disclosed wherein the header includes an interlock mechanism extending between the reel and the cutterbar such that the position of the reel relative to the cutterbar is automatically adjusted upon the fore-and-aft movement of the cutterbar to maintain a substantially constant reel-cutterbar spacing.
