  • Publication number: 20130263566
Abstract: A draper header (102) is provided having the elongate laterally extending frame (104) and two forwardly extending crop dividers (116, 118) at each end. A gear box (120, 122) is mounted on the front of each crop divider (116, 118). The gearbox (120, 122) has two output shafts (148, 152), a first shaft (148) that is coupled to and drives an elongate reciprocating knife (112) extending across the leading edge of the draper header (102) and a second shaft (152) that is coupled to and drives a crop divider knife (128, 129). The crop divider knife (128, 129) includes a quick coupling (144) that engages a quick coupling (154) mounted on the second shaft (152).

  • Patent number: 6457302
Abstract: A crop divider for separating crop plants on one side of a line of travel from those on an opposite side of the line of travel and pushing the plants away from the line of travel to allow passage of an implement portion along a forward travel path while reducing contact of the plants with the implement portion. The crop divider comprises a vertically oriented V-shaped member adapted for mounting on the implement forward of the implement portion, the V-shaped member having an apex located substantially in the center of the travel path and facing forward, and right and left legs extending rearward and outward beyond edges of the travel path. A vertically oriented cutter is mounted on a forward edge of the apex of the V-shaped member. The crop divider is particularly suited to a canola pusher for lodging crops of the Genus Brassica.

  • Patent number: 4715174
Abstract: An attachment for forming standing straw snow traps comprises sickle blade, a curved guide and a support frame for mounting the attachment on the harvesting machine so that the sickle blade extends forwardly of, above and generally parallel to the machine's sickle blade over a short length thereof which is covered to prevent cutting of the crop. The attachment is connected to the reel arms of the machine for common height adjustment therewith. The curved guide directs the cut heads of the crop onto the collection draper of the machine. The attachment can be pivotaly mounted or mounted on scissors linkage from the cover.
