Abstract: A process for the preparation of acid amides, comprising reacting a carboxylic acid and an amine in the presence of an isonitrile, wherein the isonitrile has at least one hetero-atom in the substituent present in the above-mentioned isonitrile group. The isonitrile is preferably morpholino-ethyl isocyanide, a new chemical compound.
Abstract: To prepare compounds containing carboxylic acid amide groups, in particular peptides, there are reacted compounds containing a carboxy group, in the presence of dialkylphosphinic acid anhydrides with compounds containing a free amino group.
Abstract: Anthranilic acid amides are prepared by mixing phthalamic acid with a caustic alkali solution, a catalyst and a hypohalite, allowing the mixture to stand for from 1 to 1,000 seconds, then introducing the amine and thereafter addig acid until the pH of the mixture is from 6 to 8.The anthranilic acid amides obtainable by the process of the invention are valuable starting materials for the preparation of dyes, scents and pesticides.

Abstract: In a short total synthesis of morphinan compounds, derivatives of 1-benzyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline are produced. Certain of these compounds, although highly aromatic and functionalized, can be optically resolved. The optically active enantiomers can serve as important intermediates for both natural and unnatural opioids.

Abstract: Alkyl amides have been synthesized from cyclic anhydrides, carboxyl acids and their esters by contacting them with an amine carbamic acid salt.
Abstract: What is disclosed is a method of making a carboxylic acid amide, including a peptide, by reacting a compound having a free amino group with a compound having a free carboxy group in the presence of an anhydride of an alkane-phosphonic acid.
Abstract: Carboxylic amides can be produced simply and in good yield by reacting primary alcohols with at least one compound selected from ammonia, primary amines, and secondary amines, in the presence of a molecular oxygen-containing gas and a palladium or platinum catalyst under oxidative conditions.
Abstract: This invention is directed to 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-naphthyl or indanyl stilbene derivatives which are useful as tumor inhibiting agents, in the treatment of neoplasms, dermatological conditions and rheumatic illnesses.
Abstract: This process relates to the oxidation of phenoxytoluenes to phenoxybenzoic acids utilizing a hydrogen peroxide activated, bromide promoted cobalt catalyst which can be performed at atmospheric pressure and at moderate temperatures. These phenoxybenzoic acids can then be esterified and selectively nitrated to give the corresponding 2-nitro-5-(substituted)phenoxybenzoic acid esters. Alternatively the acids can be nitrated and then esterified.
Abstract: An inexpensive and nonhazardous process for the preparation of an amide wherein an organic acid reacting with an aryl amine to form an intermediate hydroxy aryl amide and then dehydrating the hydroxy aryl amide to form a .alpha., .beta. unsaturated amide.
