Patent number: 5881546Abstract: A spinning ring for winding a yarn fed from a raw yarn bobbin on a bobbin includes a stationary ring that is mounted on a ring rail. A rotary ring is disposed inside and concentrically with the stationary ring for rotation about the central axis thereof. The bobbin is disposed inside and concentrically with the rotary ring for rotation about the central axis thereof. A traveler is disposed on the rotary ring for revolution in the circumferential direction of the rotary ring to guide the yarn fed from the supply bobbin with respect to the bobbin. When the bobbin is rotated substantially at normal operating speed, the speed of the traveler and the rotary ring are rotated substantially in unison with each other relative to the stationary ring.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1996Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: Nippo LtdInventor: Yasushi Iwama

Patent number: 5829239Abstract: A spinning ring structure for use on a spinning frame comprises a stationary ring fixedly held in place, a rotary ring fitted in the stationary ring coaxially with the stationary ring so as to rotate about its center axis and provided with an annular flange at its upper end, a traveler put on the flange of the rotary ring for traveling along the flange to guide a yarn to a bobbin disposed coaxially with the rotary ring. Openings are formed through a neck portion of the rotary ring, whereby flies produced during the spinning operation by friction between the yarn and the traveler are discharged outside the spinning ring structure through the openings due to centrifugal force.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1997Date of Patent: November 3, 1998Assignees: Nippo Ltd., Howa Machinery, Ltd.Inventors: Yasushi Iwama, Yutaka Tanaka, Hiroshi Enomoto, Hideyuki Goto

Patent number: 5829240Abstract: The invention provides spinning rings for textile spinning processes having an improved bearing surface formed of a coating of hard nodular chromium which is applied by an electrodeposition process. The spinning rings of the invention can increase the life of travelers that ride on the spinning ring and can provide for high productivity spinning processes.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1997Date of Patent: November 3, 1998Assignee: A. B. Carter, Inc.Inventors: Rio H. Benson, Gereon E. Poquette

Patent number: 5819519Abstract: The present invention is for spinning ring for winding a yarn fed from a raw yarn bobbin on a bobbin including a stationary ring that is mounted on a ring rail. When the bobbin is rotated substantially at normal operating speed, the speed of the traveler and the rotary ring are rotated substantially in unison with each other relative to the stationary ring.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1997Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Assignee: Nippo Ltd.Inventor: Yasushi Iwama

Patent number: 4879872Abstract: An apparatus for positioning aligned, elongate segments of a ring rail of a textile machine relative to vertically movable ring rail supports includes a centering bore and projection, a lateral guide bore and projection and a longitudinal guide bore and projection. The bores are selectively formed on the vertically movable ring rail supports and the ring rail segments and the projections are correspondingly formed on the other of the ring rail supports and the ring rail segments. The lateral guide bore and projection accommodates variations in the lateral extent of the ring rail segment and the longitudinal guide bore and projection accommodates variations in the longitudinal extent of the ring rail segment so that the ring rail segment is maintained at a predetermined position with respect to the spindles serviced by its associated rings while variations in its longitudinal and lateral extents which may occur due to temperature changes or the like are automatically acccommodated.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1989Date of Patent: November 14, 1989Assignee: Zinser Textilmaschinen GmbHInventor: Jakob Bothner

Patent number: 4735039Abstract: A suspension assembly (A) for raising and lowering the ring rails (14, 14') of a textile yarn processing machine is disclosed. Vertical guide posts (18, 18') are disposed adjacent to each of the ring rails for guiding the ring rails as they reciprocate vertically. The opposed ring rails are connected by the suspension assembly which includes a parallelogram linkage comprised of a tension rod (24) pivotally connected to opposing bearing brackets (B, C) and a compression rod (26) which is pivotally connected to the opposing bearing brackets. Slide bearings (20, 20' and 22, 22') are carried by the bearing brackets (B, C) for bearing against the guide posts (18, 18'). The lengths of the compression rod and the tension rod are adjusted to bring the spaced slide bearings into light contact with an associated guide post so that the ring rails may be lifted by a lifter mechanism in unison without causing loads on the guide posts.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1987Date of Patent: April 5, 1988Assignee: Platt Saco Lowell CorporationInventor: Guenther C. Wunderlich

Patent number: 3973647Abstract: Each oil branch duct is mounted on the machine frame so that, as the ring rail moves downwardly into an underwinding position relative to the bobbins, the oil branch duct is inserted into the oil duct carried on the ring rail. A metered flow of oil is injected into the oil duct during this time. When the ring rail moves upwardly, the oil duct moves away from the branch oil duct to interrupt the oil supply connection.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1974Date of Patent: August 10, 1976Assignee: Rieter Machine Works, Ltd.Inventor: Arthur Wurmli
