The roving and the randomly mixed sliver are twisted together so that the sliver wraps around the roving in order to form a double layered roving. After the double layered roving is subjected to fine spinning, it is then subjected to a heat treatment. As a result, a multi-layered bulky spun yarn is obtained.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1979Date of Patent: April 28, 1981Assignee: Teijin LimitedInventors: Osamu Wada, Goro Murata

Patent number: 4262480Abstract: A decorative composite novelty yarn which has use as a craft item as in making floral decorations. The composite yarn includes a core including a deformable wire strand and a plurality of textured core yarns generally in aligned contact with each other and said wire strand. A first frieze yarn is wrapped in one direction about the core and a second frieze yarn is thereafter wrapped about the core and the first frieze yarn in the opposite direction. The novelty yarn is formed on a modified spinning frame having vertically spaced spindles for rotationally wrapping the frieze cover yarns and drive means for positively feeding the wire strand.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1979Date of Patent: April 21, 1981Assignees: Frederick A. Patent number: 4248036Abstract: A bulky continuous filament yarn, in which continuous filament core yarns of polymeric material are substantially straight and free from loops and comprise from about 65 to about 93 percent of the total filaments by weight while the remainder of the total filaments are continuous filament effect yarns having a denier per filament of up to 5.0 that are inserted between the filaments of the core yarn and protrude from the surface of the core yarn in a mixture of crunodal and arch-like loops, is made by feeding a larger denier yarn at low overfeed and a much smaller denier yarn at low to moderate overfeed through a jet supplied with ambient air.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1979Date of Patent: February 3, 1981Assignee: E. Patent number: 4244173Abstract: A boucle yarn is prepared by relaxed heat treatment of a precursor yarn prepared by combination of a low shrinkage filament or yarn or monofil at the back of the front roller of a spinning frame with a roving of high shrinkage fibers followed by twisting to a twist multiplier of 1.5 to 4.0. The shrinkage differential between the high shrinkage fibers and the low shrinkage fibers must be at least 20%.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1978Date of Patent: January 13, 1981Assignee: E. I. Patent number: 4152885Abstract: An interlocked yarn having a plurality of continuous filaments which have substantially no twist and having at spaced intervals along the length thereof at least one of the filaments encircling the other filaments to interlock the filaments together. The method of making the interlocked yarn includes feeding a plurality of continuous filaments into a fluid jet which has a fluid medium passing therethrough in a direction substantially counter to the direction of travel of the filaments. The interlocked filaments are pulled away from the fluid jet at a rate less than the feed rate. This produces an interlocked yarn having some of the filaments encircling the other filaments to provide an interlock at spaced intervals which eliminates the need to twist the bundle of filaments.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1977Date of Patent: May 8, 1979Assignee: Hercules IncorporatedInventor: Paul R.
