  • Patent number: 6244029
Abstract: A method and a device for winding a spun yarn body from an inside wall of a spinning centrifuge of a pot spinning machine onto a tube (10) introduced for such purpose into the spinning centrifuge. The yarn extending between a yarn guide tube (6) and the inside wall of the spinning centrifuge is caught by lowering the tube past the mouth of the yarn guide tube and the winding process initiated. A remnant of spinning yarn is created thereby between the draw frame and the tube foot. In order to avoid disturbances due to the free end of this remnant of spinning yarn, the remnant of spinning yarn is separated from the yarn body and the tube and subsequently removed by suction.

  • Patent number: 6109014
Abstract: A method and a device for initiating the rewinding process after a yarn break in single stage pot spinning. In the process, a yarn detaching device (14) is introduced into a spinning centrifuge (3) rotating a high rpm, and places a cutting edge (16, 48) against the conically wound portion (32) of a spinning cake (15) deposited on the inner wall (26) of the spinning centrifuge (3). The yarn detaching device (14) has a yarn guide device, whose yarn guide contour (17, 43) covers the cutting edge (16, 48) of the yarn detaching device (14) such that in the course of the initiation of the rewinding process lower winding layers of the conically wound portion (32) are lifted on the rewinding tube (9) and in this way dependably prevents the winding of yarn around the yarn detaching device (14) during the rewinding process.

  • Patent number: 6082658
Abstract: The roving slubbing at the conclusion of winding of a roving bobbin in a flyer type machine is passed in a descending spiral around the cylindrical body bobbin and then onto the lower winding cone, after it is looped in an overwinding onto the winding tube below the lower winding cone. The winding then passes in a spiral upwardly and is formed into a short spiral segment which is drawn out by a traction on the roving so that the latter will break along the cylindrical body. The bobbin is stable and can easily be handled and transported directly and there is a reduced possibility for the slubbing to come loose, although it remains available to be pulled downwardly at the ring-spinning machine.

Abstract: An apparatus for preventing an unwinding of a roving end from a full package roving bobbin during the transportation thereof. This apparatus is constructed in combination with the transportation mechanism formed in the known doffing mechanism or known overhead roving bobbin transportation system, in a condition such that a part of the constitutional mechanical elements of such known transportation mechanisms are utilized as a part of the constitutional mechanical elements of the apparatus according to the present invention. In the apparatus of the present invention, a pressing member is utilized for applying pressure against the peripheral face of the winding portion of each roving bobbin while this bobbin is rotating, and therefore the free end of the roving is firmly attached to the above-mentioned peripheral face of the roving bobbin. Consequently, any possible problems due to an unexpected unwinding of the roving can be effectively prevented.

  • Patent number: 4757679
Abstract: A doffing carriage is mobile at the level of the flyer support bed of a roving frame, and carries cop and empty tube gripping elements which are orientatable between a vertical position and an oblique position. A peg conveyor loaded with empty tubes in a reverse zig-zag arrangement to that of the cop rotators is disposed at the level of a footboard. The cops, lowered on to an orientatable cop carrier, are gripped by the gripping elements in an oblique position, raised, disposed vertically and deposited on to the free pegs of the conveyor, proceeding from one end of the roving frame to the other. After moving the conveyor through one step, the gripping elements deposit the empty tubes on to the cop rotators by proceeding in the reverse direction. The same carriage loads the empty tubes on to the conveyor and unloads the cops from it at one end of the roving frame, while this latter is in operation.

  • Patent number: 4583358
Abstract: Bobbins wound with rovings from a preparatory stage are loaded onto a carriage which receives them on an orthogonal array of horizontal pegs and transports them to a holding station for transfer, one column at a time, to a service unit moving continuously or intermittently past a multiplicity of working positions of a ring spinning machine whose spindles draw the roving from bobbins on a supply rack. The service unit, whose primary function may be that of a yarn-tying device or a traveling air blower, has a vertical conveyor with stems alignable with the pegs of the carriage in the holding station for picking up the bobbins to be transferred and delivering them, individually, to storage areas at or near the supply rack where fresh bobbins are needed as determined by a sensor aboard that unit. The storage areas may have overhead grippers onto which a bobbin is pushed from an erected stem at the upper vertex of the vertical conveyor.
