  • Patent number: 4569191
Abstract: In a widely-used type of ring, spinning or twisting machine, each spindle of the machine is provided at its upper end with a spinning head. This head is engaged by yarn to be wound onto a cop spool carried on the spindle, the yarn passing from the spinning head to the ring traveller associated with that spindle. Due to the engagement of the yarn with the spinning head it is generally not possible to employ known types of automatic cop removal device with such machines. To overcome this problem, cop-raising means are provided which, at the end of each cop-forming process and prior to operation of the cop-removal device, serve to raise the cop spools above the level of the upper ends of the spinning heads whereby to disengage the yarns therefrom. The cop-raising means comprise, for example, a mechanism arranged to displace upwardly the so-called ring nuts associated with each spindle.

  • Patent number: 4524579
Abstract: A device for mounting or donning of bobbins onto a transport band of a textile machine, especially a ring spinning or ring twisting machine contemplates that incorrectly mounted bobbins are ejected or doffed by a bar member pivotable about a pivot axis or shaft. To eject or doff such incorrectly mounted bobbins the bar member is moved, at a monitoring or control position, in a downward direction towards the head of the bobbin currently there located and ejects incompletely mounted bobbins. The donning device exhibits simplicity and a reliable mode of operation. Furthermore, by means of the invention damage produced by incorrectly mounted bobbins is avoided and damaged bobbins are removed from the operating process.

  • Patent number: 4403471
Abstract: A bobbin exchange apparatus on a ring spinning or a ring twisting machine contains a transporting belt extending substantially horizontally in the longitudinal direction of the machine. The transporting belt is provided with bobbin holders and, viewed relative to the machine, is inclined downward towards the front. According to the invention, there are provided supporting means extending in the longitudinal direction of the machine. These supporting means are contacted by the front side of the empty bobbin tubes placed onto the transporting belt. The invention permits a considerable space saving to be achieved in such a manner that, in comparison to known machines, more space is available for the spindle bearings or bolsters and there can be used a spindle rail which fulfils the requirements of sufficient stability. Furthermore, the invention allows an improved spinning geometry to be chosen.

  • Patent number: 4338778
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting an erroneously inserted empty bobbin is disposed on a spinning frame which is provided with an automatic doffing and donning apparatus and a conveyor having empty bobbin supporting pegs mounted thereon. The detecting apparatus photoelectrically or electromechanically detects whether or not an empty bobbin is correctly inserted onto the corresponding empty bobbin supporting peg based on the fact that an incorrectly inserted bobbin inclines backwards and projects upwards. When the incorrectly inserted bobbin is detected, an alarm is actuated in order to notify an operator in charge of the spinning frame of the same.

  • Patent number: 4307807
Abstract: An apparatus for sorting conical bobbin tubes for textile machines with their tip ends located to one side comprises a supply device supplying individual bobbin tubes transversely of their axes along a guide table and between two lateral guide edges. The distance of the lateral guide edges from the guide table is equal to the mean bobbin tube diameter and the mutual distance between which diminishes, seen in the direction of the bobbin tube supply, from a value greater than the bobbin tube length to a value smaller than the bobbin tube length. During their movement in the supply direction the bobbin tubes are forced to move longitudinally in the direction of their tip end, which permits sorting them with their tip end to one side.

  • Patent number: 4294067
Abstract: A bobbin doffing and donning method and apparatus are disclosed, wherein a stop is selectively projected into a path, along which an engaging member, mounted on a suitable portion of a power transmission mechanism structurally associating a doffing bar with a piston and cylinder assembly for tilting the doffing bar, is moved by the piston and cylinder assembly, to allow the engaging member to pressure contact with the stop thereby stopping the doffing bar at an intermediately tilted condition under which the doffing bar can operate on bobbins temporarily placed on a refuge support positioned between a succession of spindles and a bobbin conveyor both arranged along the side of a spinning machine. In order to release the doffing bar from the intermediately inclined condition, fluid is supplied into the piston and cylinder assembly so as to temporarily move the engaging member in a direction in which it disengages from the stop and thereafter the stop is moved out of the path of the engaging member.
