  • Patent number: 4827709
Abstract: In the process and apparatus for loading a ring spinning machine with roving-supply bobbins at least two bobbins rows extending longitudinally on each side of the spinning machine supply roving to the work stations and a auxiliary bobbin row which can travel in with full bobbons and out with empty bobbins are provided. According to our invention an exchange process is provided comprising replacing the roving of the bobbins in one of the bobbins rows supplying the roving which is being consumed by the roving of the auxiliary bobbin row which has been brought in with full bobbins. Thus the auxiliary bobbin row becomes one of the bobbin rows dispensing the roving while the bobbin row being replaced now becomes the auxiliary bobbin row with empty bobbins and is taken away. A new auxiliary bobbin row with full bobbins is then brought in. The exchange process is repeated for each of the bobbin rows as the roving is exhausted. A simple space saving apparatus for performing this process is described.

Abstract: A bobbin transfer system of a spinning frame (1), in which a series of trays (13) are carried on a pair of carrier rails (14, 15) driven to repeat a back-and-forth reciprocation. Hooking members (23) are arranged along the carrier rails (14, 15), which allow the trays (13) to pass thereover during the forward displacement of the carrier rail (14, 15) but inhibit the backward displacement of the trays (13) by the action of hooks (23a) formed on the hooking member (23) at a distance from each other corresponding to N times the spindle pitch wherein N satisfies the equation .DELTA.A.gtoreq..DELTA.D.times.N (wherein .DELTA.D stands for a manufacturing tolerance of a diameter of the tray 13 and .DELTA.A stands for an allowance for a grip distance of a bobbin catcher in an auto-doffer) and p stands for a spindle pitch. Accordingly, the trays (13) are transferred intermittently as the carrier rails (14, 15) reciprocate at a stroke larger than the spindle pitch.

Abstract: In a widely-used type of ring, spinning or twisting machine, each spindle of the machine is provided at its upper end with a spinning head. This head is engaged by yarn to be wound onto a cop spool carried on the spindle, the yarn passing from the spinning head to the ring traveller associated with that spindle. Due to the engagement of the yarn with the spinning head it is generally not possible to employ known types of automatic cop removal device with such machines. To overcome this problem, cop-raising means are provided which, at the end of each cop-forming process and prior to operation of the cop-removal device, serve to raise the cop spools above the level of the upper ends of the spinning heads whereby to disengage the yarns therefrom. The cop-raising means comprise, for example, a mechanism arranged to displace upwardly the so-called ring nuts associated with each spindle.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling production in a spinning machine is disclosed herein. Sliver consumption quantity at each of the spinning stations is computed from the count of pulse signals generated in synchronism with the rotation of a drive shaft, e.g., of a winding drum, and from the count of those pulse signals generated in the same way but during yarn piecing or doffing operations when no spun yarn is wound. When a reference value of preset data is reached by the computed sliver consumption quantity with respect to any spinning station, a device is operated to give an alarm signaling the need for sliver can replacement with a full one at that station.

Abstract: An apparatus for sliver can controlling in a spinning mill having a plurality of spinning machines each comprising a plurality of spinning stations. The apparatus includes various lines of sliver can transporting tracks through which a full sliver can may be brought to a position adjacent to any of the spinning stations, as required. Sliver consumption quantities at the respective stations are computed by a control circuit as a central processing unit. When the sliver consumption at any one of the spinning stations reaches a predetermined quantity at which its sliver can is nearly empty, the control circuit operates to energize a warning means and means for indicating the number designating such spinning station calling for sliver can replacement.

Abstract: On textile machines, on which packages are wound with a set or reference yarn length, the changing of these packages by means of a travelling package changing device should be carried out in such time optimized manner that the largest possible number of winding positions can be serviced by the package changing device. For this purpose, the yarn length of packages to be wound is signalled continuously to a computer by means of yarn length measuring units and the location of a package changer is continuously signalled to the computer by means of positioning units. If certain packages reach a remainder or residual yarn length before reaching the set yarn length, then the wind-up times for the remainder yarn length of these packages are compared by the computer with the respective travelling times of a package changer to these packages and registered in an optimization procedure, for example for three of these packages.

The laps are transported above head height by carriers or supports movable along transport rails and are raised and lowered by means of carrier rails. The transport rails and the carrier rails are components or parts of a closed, endless circulation path or track. Each carrier has a holder for the lap and a holder for the empty tube. The invention provides the advantages that no special transport system is required for return of the tubes. Moreover, transport of individual laps or of a group of such laps is possible and an ordered and simple circulation path is provided during transport of these elements or parts. Furthermore, the system can readily be automated.

Abstract: A device for mounting or donning of bobbins onto a transport band of a textile machine, especially a ring spinning or ring twisting machine contemplates that incorrectly mounted bobbins are ejected or doffed by a bar member pivotable about a pivot axis or shaft. To eject or doff such incorrectly mounted bobbins the bar member is moved, at a monitoring or control position, in a downward direction towards the head of the bobbin currently there located and ejects incompletely mounted bobbins. The donning device exhibits simplicity and a reliable mode of operation. Furthermore, by means of the invention damage produced by incorrectly mounted bobbins is avoided and damaged bobbins are removed from the operating process.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for switching the relative position between roving bobbins held by bobbin hangers of a front row and the roving bobbins held by the rear row in a spinning frame. The roving bobbin exchange operation is carried out as successive unit operations from one end-side of the spinning frame to the other end-side thereof. In each unit operation, first the axial distance between a bobbin hanger of the front row and a bobbin hanger of the rear row, which are positioned adjacently in the lengthwise direction of the spinning frame, is reduced to a predetermined distance, then the relative position of those two bobbin hangers is reversely changed while maintaining the reduced axial distance. Thereafter, the axial distance between those two bobbin hangers is returned to the initial condition for carrying out the spinning operation.
