Having Filtering, De-aerating, Cleaning Or Bleeding Structure Patents (Class 60/336)
  • Patent number: 8986411
Abstract: A modular design for large pulse jet fabric filters (PJFF) is divided into similar compartments, which are each “shop-fabricated” in quarter sections prior to delivery to the power plant site. The quarter sections of the compartments are modular and sized so that they can be fabricated at a shop located away from the power plant site and transported by truck over public roads to the power plant site. Once delivered to the site, the quarter sections are bolted together and seal welded to form a PJFF compartment, without requiring additional internal fabrication or welding. The assembled compartment is then lifted onto the support structure as an assembled unit and bolted and/or welded in place. The additional components of the PJFF may also be shop-fabricated offsite to further the benefits of the modular design.

  • Patent number: 7017341
Abstract: In an assembly including a diesel engine, a fluid coupling connected to the flywheel of the diesel engine, a comminuting machine and a conveyor for feeding the comminuting machine, a fluid coupling module is common to various output power train assemblies. Slip speed of the fluid coupling between impeller input and runner output shafts is measured, and modulates or regulates the process feed rate of the conveyer. An electrically actuated control valve acts as an oil flow diverter valve directing oil into the fluid coupling impeller when a signal to engage the coupling is given, and in response to a signal from an over-temperature sensor when the temperature of circuit oil leaving the element exceeds a preset set point value, diverts the oil to a reservoir, thereby permitting the impeller and runner cavity to evacuate, which separates the engine from the load.

  • Patent number: 6840040
Abstract: The hydrodynamic coupling includes a pump blade wheel and a turbine blade wheel together forming at least one toroidal operating space capable of receiving an operating medium. The housing at least partially in an axial direction contains the pump blade wheel and forms an intermediate space at least with the pump blade wheel. The pump blade wheel defines at least one connection channel between the toroidal operating space and the intermediate space, the connection channel having at least one directional component that is oriented essentially tangentially to the contour of the circulation of the operating medium in the operating state between the pump blade wheel and the turbine blade wheel. The connection channel provides a partial flow of operating medium in the operating space, providing a rinsing effect for deposits collected on the housing in the intermediate space.

  • Patent number: 5315825
Abstract: In a system for supplying oil to a fluid drive, the fluid drive having an impeller, and a runner fluidically coupled by oil between them, the degree of coupling being determined by the amount of oil between them, a temperature sensor is located to sense the temperature of oil as it is being discharged from the impeller-runner, and the temperature so sensed is translated into the opening and restricting of a control valve controlling the flow of oil to the fluid drive to maintain the discharged oil temperature substantially constant. An external reservoir is connected to the sump of the fluid drive by pipe of sufficient size to provide a head space above the oil being removed from the sump, and the reservoir itself is of such a size as to provide head space and to provide a dwell time long enough to permit detrainment from the oil of air entrained in the oil as it passes through the fluid drive system.

  • Patent number: 4715481
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrodynamic retarder having two independent operating circuits. Opposite a double rotor on the one hand is a stator fixed to a housing, and the rows of vanes concerned are inclined. The other half of the rotor forms with a rotatable stator and a second operating circuit having rows of blades equally effective in both rotational directions. The stator of this second operating circuit can be coupled via a gear unit and a coupling device to the retarder shaft. The gear unit drives the stator in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the rotor and with step-up transmission. When braking from a high travelling speed, only the first operating circuit is effective, the stator of the second operating circuit is released by the retarder shaft and freely rotates as well without any braking action.
