  • Patent number: 5676637
Abstract: A physical therapeutic instrument for treatment of hemorrhoids is disclosed. The instrument treats existing hemorrhoids through a nonoperative method and prevents possible anal diseases. The instrument has a rectal insert having a shape agreeable to the anal anatomy of the human body. The rectal insert is carried on a carriage and is movably orthogonally received in a through hole of a seat of the instrument. The rectal insert is lifted and inserted into the rectum by a lifting unit and vibrated vertically and/or horizontally by a vibration unit. The rectal insert also heats the rectum at about 36.degree.-60.degree. C., thus providing a heating effect for the rectum. Insertion of the rectal insert into the rectum also pushes up drooping anal sphincter muscles, thus strengthening the anal muscles. The instrument thus maintains and strengthens active contractible motion of the anal muscles.

  • Patent number: 5611771
Abstract: A pulse action facial massager apparatus including a headset assembly for mounting to a user's head. A pair of flexible extension fingers extending from opposite sides of the headset assembly each of which is operably coupled to a vibrating device each generating an independent vibrating action. A tip portion of each extension finger is manually movable for selected contact at independent portions of the user's head. Hence, the respective vibrating device transmits the vibrating action thereof along the extension finger to the respective tip portion. Each vibrating device includes a motor that is controlled by an electronic controller mounted on the headset assembly. The controller permits user-variation of the repetition rate and duty cycle of the motors. This permits the user to vary the vibrational patterns produced by the present invention. In an automatic mode, duty cycle is automatically varied by a sawtooth waveform to produce a dynamically changing pattern of massage intensity.

  • Patent number: 5575761
Abstract: A vibrating massager includes a housing and an elastic strap, which is fastened into a loop to hold a protrusion extending from a surface of the housing against a pressure point of the human body. Mechanical vibrations, produced by a small electric motor spinning an eccentrically mounted weight, are transmitted to the protrusion. The motor is driven according to a pattern of pulses, between which the vibrations are interrupted. The length of time between vibrating pulses is adjusted with a first know on the device. The speed of the motor is adjusted using a second knob on the device, varying the frequency and amplitude of the vibrations. An extension strap is used to facilitate attachment of the strap around larger body members such as the head, as well as around smaller body members, such as the wrist.

  • Patent number: 5551949
Abstract: A heated massage therapy device has a hand-held housing, a mechanical vibration generator disposed within the housing, the mechanical vibration being transmitted to at least a heat-conductive, preferably infrared transparent portion thereof, and at least one source of infrared radiation disposed within the housing, the infrared radiation being applied to at least the heat-conductive portion of the housing. A corresponding number of first fresnel lenses formed in the heat portion of the housing concentrates infrared radiation such that it may more efficiently be applied to the user. Second fresnel lenses may be formed about all of the individual infrared radiation sources as a group to further concentrate the infrared radiation applied to the user. An infrared reflective member disposed proximate the infrared radiation sources reflects infrared radiation not incident upon the heat-conductive portion of the housing theretoward.
