Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to an absorbent pad for use in a garment. The absorbent pad includes: a liquid impermeable barrier layer; a functional layer attached to the barrier layer, the functional layer comprising a liquid absorbent component; a liquid impermeable peripheral sealing element bonded to peripheries of the functional layer and barrier layer; and a peripheral attaching element having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion bonded to the peripheral sealing element. The second portion of the peripheral attaching element is detached from the peripheral sealing element and is arranged to be attached to a fabric body of the garment, thereby attaching the absorbent pad to the garment.

Abstract: The diaper of the present invention is a fixed flat cloth diaper. The diaper is ‘fixed’, because an outer layer of the diaper resembles the final format of a flat, rectangular cloth diaper having been folded origami style into a shape suitable for donning on a wearer by a user. The outer layer functions primarily to retain the diaper upon the wearer and has a stomach panel for obtaining a good closure of the diaper on the wearer. The diaper is ‘flat’, because an inner layer of the diaper is attached to the outer layer, and the inner layer is a flat, rectangular shape which is customizable for absorbency and can be folded into a flat insert configuration of the user's choice prior to donning the diaper on the wearer. The inner layer functions primarily to absorb waste (urine and feces) excreted by the wearer.

Abstract: An undergarment facilitating the process to transition from disposable protective undergarments and diapers to underwear or “toilet/potty-training” in individuals where a subject is able to access and use facilities independently and at the proper time. The training undergarment can be made of textile of differing colors and prints with a particular thickness integrated with fasteners, which lock together creating a garment with a front and back. The snaps enable the training undergarment to be removed by unsnapping the closures and removing said undergarment without the individual becoming completely undressed or disrobed. The training undergarment protects the clothing of the individual from excrement in said transition until the individual is fully “trained” and able to use proper facilities at the proper time.

Abstract: Undergarment for children comprising a babygrow (2) with fittability 0-3 years of age; in said babygrow (2) a neck (21)-crotch (22) directional line is defined; more than 90% of the weight of the fabric of the babygrow (2) is in cotton. At least 70% of the outer surface of the babygrow (2) has ribs (7) extending transversely to the neck-crotch directional line (3). The ribs (7) permit an elongation of more than 40% along the neck-crotch directional line (3) following the application of a force that is less than or equal to 5 Newton along said directional line (3).

Abstract: A diaper insert has a liquid impermeable external surface, an inner surface, and an absorbency area adjacent the inner surface. The absorbency area has at least one absorbent layer. The diaper insert has a distal end, an attachment end, and a midsection between the distal end and attachment end. The midsection has opposing sides that are in general mirror images to one another about a vertical line. A width of the midsection is less than or equal to a width of the attachment end, and a width of the midsection is less than or equal to a width of the distal end.

Abstract: A permanently closed containment pant includes an elastically extensible chassis and a sling positioned within the chassis. The sling is joined to the front waist region and the back waist region. The sling includes a fluid-impervious base sheet and a containment flap joined with the base sheet to create a fluid-impervious pouch. The sling also includes a first transition and a second transition that are elastically extensible in a longitudinal direction and in a transverse direction. The base sheet is a fabric laminated with polyurethane and the containment flap is a fabric laminated with polyurethane. The polyurethane surface of the base sheet is ultrasonically joined in facing relationship with the polyurethane surface of the containment flap. The permanently closed containment pant is substantially devoid of an integrated absorbent core.

Abstract: The present invention provide with a diaper sheath comprising: an inner and outer panel, each of said inner and outer panels having front and back portion connected by an intermediate portion, said front portion of the inner panel having an opening; and a front flap attached to said front portion of said inner panel, and said opening is covered by said front flap. The diaper of the present invention is much easier and convenient to adjust the insert from the opening at the front portion. With the flap at the front portion, parents can choose to use a biodegradable pad to insert in the flap and lay on the top of the inner panel.

The first sheet and the second sheet extend beyond the core and are joined together to form a seal. The absorbent core has at least 40% superabsorbent. The first sheet and the second sheet are fluid permeable, spunbond webs of synthetic polymer filaments. The absorbent insert is devoid of a fluid-impervious layer and has an absorbent capacity of at least 600 g. The first end section of the absorbent core has a maximum width of at least 135 mm, the central section of the absorbent core has a maximum width of less than 90 mm, and the second end section of the absorbent core has a maximum width of at least 135 mm.

Abstract: A reusable diaper may include at least one fluid-absorbing insert or layer coupled to one or more inner portions of the diaper for use in absorbing fluids. The fluid-absorbing insert may be adjustable for accommodating use by a male and/or a female. In an exemplary embodiment, the fluid-absorbing insert has a first end portion and a second end portion opposite the first end portion. The first end portion is fastened to the diaper at a first location adjacent the forward waist portion. The second end portion is fastened to the diaper at a second location adjacent the rearward waist portion. The fluid-absorbing insert includes a portion between the first and second end portions that is adjustable relative to the crotch portion between the first and second locations for selectively changing an overlapped region of the at least one fluid-absorbing insert to accommodate use by a male and/or a female.

The article is constructed with a fully detachable one-piece adjustable belt which is hidden from view when the article is adorned. The belt attaches to rear sideflaps from opposing ends wherein alternate sized belts can be interchanged. Alternative hidden adjustable belts comprise partially detachable one piece units or elongated extensions of the rear sideflaps; and are intended to be wrapped around the waist of the user so the absorbent article can remain in place while a user is performing bodily functions. The belts can be partially or fully detached if a pull up underwear type garment is desired. The front portion is constructed to be brought up between the legs wherein the front portion elongated side flaps are attached to the rear portion of the article to assume a pant like shape.

The physical discontinuity, or physical discontinuities, are located in the compressed absorbent member and may be made in the tampon pledget before the pledget is compressed into the absorbent member. The physical discontinuities partially isolate a portion, or portions, of the tampon from the rest of the tampon. The partial isolation of a portion of the tampon reduces the amount of menses absorbed by that portion, which could be transported to the rest of the tampon through wicking. The concentration of menses absorption in a portion allows that portion have a higher level of expansion than the rest of the tampon to prevent menses from leaking out of the vaginal opening.

Preferred active ingredients are skincare and haircare actives, including emollients, humectants, conditioning agents, sunscreens and sunblocks, and artificial tanning agents.

In an exemplary embodiment, a reusable diaper may generally include a forward portion, a rearward portion, a crotch portion, and first and second waist portions. At least a three-by-three array of snap members may be along the forward portion that allows selective adjustment to a functional rise of the reusable diaper. The array may include at least a first row of at least three spaced-apart snap members vertically spaced from and aligned with corresponding snap members in at least two other rows of the array. The first waist portion may have corner regions releasably attachable to the second waist portion. The corner regions may be resiliently stretchable to permit at least some adjustability to a functional waist size of the reusable diaper as defined by the first and second waist portions when the first waist portion is releasably attached to the second waist portion.

The preferred embodiment of said diaper is comprised of two main components including an approximately hourglass shaped two layer outer containing element, and a contoured absorbent soaker pad with a plurality of fabric layers sewn together. The outer fabric of the containing element is laminated on its interior surface to provide dryness protection. A unique longitudinal central interior opening provides a means for keeping said soaker pad in place during wear, containing solid waste, and allowing for ease of washing and use.

The technical features of the surgical sponge-pad devices make possible unique surgical sponge-pad systems and methods that take advantage of the use, conditioning, and reuse of a single surgical sponge device again and again during a surgical procedure. The invention provides surgical-sponge-pad devices, systems, and methods that make possible a significant reduction in the number of surgical sponges needed for a given surgical procedure. In addition this multifunctional surgical sponge-pad will have significant and brand new applications in surgery for the protection and hydration of tissues, transmission of antibiotics and antimicrobials and other solutions, barriers in surgery and even use in transfer of transplanted organs as well as many other future medical and surgical uses as yet undefined and undiscovered.

In particular, embodiments of the present invention provide a garment including a main garment body configured to be worn by a wearer and a capturing panel having a receiving surface configured to receive bodily fluids excreted from the wearer attached to the main garment body such that the capturing panel covers at least a first portion of said main garment body. The capturing panel is made out of a natural material, has a thickness no greater than approximately 4 mm, and is configured to transfer bodily fluid received from the wearer away from the receiving surface. A fluid resistant treatment may be applied to at least a second portion of the main garment body, which second portion may be identical to the first portion. A odor-neutralizing treatment may be applied at least a portion of the capturing panel.

Abstract: A reusable absorbent article includes a hydrophilic top layer, a soaking layer adjacent to and beneath the top layer, a substantially liquid impermeable layer adjacent to and beneath the soaking layer, and a backing layer adjacent to and beneath the substantially liquid impermeable layer. All of the layers are secured together to form a unitary structure. The soaking layer is a non-woven fabric having a plurality of hydrophobic fibers of a generally circular cross-sectional shape and a plurality of hydrophilic fibers of a non-circular cross-sectional shape.

Abstract: The diaper insert is formed from multiple uneven panels attached together in the middle providing comfort without requiring folding while using less drying time and energy. The diaper pouch is formed from rectangular panels and has a fold lock. Since pieces are rectangular, it can be be both adapted to a continuous feed process utilizing equipment available from other industries to increase productivity, and be arranged to minimize waste in the manufacturing process. The cover panel and fold lock are composed of woven fabric laminated with polyurethane. Since polyurethane does not absorb water, this helps shorten drying time. The pocket panel is made from woven fabric that can last for many wash and dry cycles. Personal fitting and adjusting for different size diaper inserts can be managed by making two of the sides adjustable length by utilizing either stretchable or non-stretch cords with stoppers.
