Abstract: A diaper band for ensuring that a toddler cannot remove a diaper secured thereby. The diaper band has central inner-facing hook fabric that can be attached to the fabric on the front of a typical diaper (disposable or reusable). The diaper band also has ends bearing hook and loop material that are securable to the back of the diaper behind the back of the toddler, to ensure that the toddler cannot detach the diaper band. The diaper band securely covers the attachment tabs of the diaper, so that the toddler cannot undo the diaper tabs. The central inward-facing hook fabric can be one or more material patches that are big enough to grab onto the front fabric of the diaper, the same front fabric for attaching the diaper tabs. Alternatively, the central inward-facing hook material region can extend along the entire length of the diaper band.

The thermoplastic layer has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, with the first surface of the thermoplastic layer bearing a plurality of male fastening elements. The attached portion comprises a plurality of surface protrusions integrally formed of said material, each of said surface protrusions comprising a base portion and a head portion above the base portion. The attached portion is attached to said layer by deformed head portions of at least some of said surface protrusions. In a method for manufacturing such article, the attachment involves deforming head portions of the surface protrusions.

An absorbent article may include a structure materials to absorb fluid, for instance a paper or napkin-like article made using virgin fiber or recycled fibers in order to achieve certain softness and strength attributes. The article, for instance a sheath, liner, or barrier, is adapted to provide at least one split or cleft, and thus absorbent flaps, at the bottom of the barrier to engage a crotch of the underwear and restrict movement of the article and facilitate comfortable placement of genitals as preferred and to achieve an engaged geometry of article with underwear. The absorbent article also includes graduated placement indicia to facilitate retention of proper fit based on body size.

Each flange portion is transversely curled toward the second surface. A process for making such an article is also disclosed.

A caudal portion of the garment rear of the lumbar strap protects the lower abdomen and urogenital regions. This caudal portion is allowed to gravitationally fold distal from the skin of the canine allowing for unobstructed urination. The same caudal portion of the garment, when impacted by an obstacle, returns proximal to the skin of the canine and acts to protect the lower abdomen and urogenital regions of the canine. The caudal portion of the garment is stitched in multiple lines allowing for permanently sizing the garment for a specific canine while retaining the integrity of the overall garment.

Abstract: A mechanical fastener is disclosed that includes a thermoplastic backing and multiple, upstanding fastening elements that have a post with a proximal end attached to the thermoplastic backing and a distal end comprising a cap larger in area than a cross-sectional area of the post. The basis weight of the mechanical fastener is in a range from 25 grams per square meter to 75 grams per square meter, and the height of the multiple, upstanding fastening elements is up to 300 micrometers. Fastening systems and disposable absorbent articles including the mechanical fastener are also disclosed.
