A back panel extends from the rear wall of the storage heat insulating box so as to form rear walls of the evaporator heat insulating box and the equipment accommodating space, respectively. A side panel is continuous to the back panel so as to define an air circulation space together with a side of the evaporator heat insulating box. A front panel is continuous to the side panel so as to provide a front of the evaporator heat insulating box and the equipment accommodating space.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of installing a slide-in refrigeration unit in a vending machine that automatically aligns and seals the refrigeration unit air flow ducts to the refrigerated compartment of the vending machine, is disclosed. A simple assembly guides movement of the refrigeration unit as it is slid backward into the vending machine so as to identically align a pair of mating inclined surfaces of a duct connector assembly into sealing engagement, to automatically effect air flow communication between the refrigeration unit and the refrigerated compartment. The refrigeration unit installation is completed by simple securing the slid-in unit to the floor of the vending machine with several screws or bolts.

Abstract: A refrigerator compressor mounting pan arrangement is preferably formed out of a metal plate which is drawn to form a pair of laterally spaced wheel wells that project upwardly from an upper surface of the plate. On the lower surface of the plate, on opposing side of each wheel well, are recessed pocket portions which define enlarged areas against which wheel axles can bear. A plurality of spaced tabs are lanced out of the plate adjacent each pocket such that, when a wheel having an associated axle is positioned in the well the axle bearing against the pockets, the tabs may be readily bent about the axle to retain the axle in a desired load bearing position. A plurality of additional tabs are lanced out of the plate and project upwardly from the upper surface of the plate in order to enable a compressor and a condenser to be readily secured atop the plate.

Abstract: An air conditioning system has an air handling unit within a housing. The air handling unit is adapted for connection to the supply and return air ducts of a building and for mounting at the roof of the building. A separate and distinct condensing unit can be mounted above, adjacent to, or removed from the air handling unit such that the air handling unit can be installed in relatively small roof spaces, while the condensing unit can be installed in locations where sufficient space exists. Fluid connection structure extends between the condensing unit and the air handling unit. The system is easily serviceable, and pullout sections within this system improve maintenance procedures. The invention has utility as an original installation unit, and has further utility as a replacement unit for small dimension air conditioning unit or units in small roof spaces.

Abstract: In an under the counter ice making machine for producing an ice product, a two-part freezer compartment is removably assembled to a frame. The freezer compartment includes an upwardly open box-shaped lower ice bin and an upper hood that is removably mounted in covering relation to the top of the ice bin. The ice bin is mounted to and removed from the frame only when the hood is removed. The ice bin has a rear end wall and a pair of sidewalls extending vertically upwardly and the bin is mounted by rotating the bin and its rear end wall into position on the frame and seated behind an abutment shoulder extending from the frame. Thereafter, the hood is assembled to and removed from the ice bin by a horizontal sliding movement of its sidewalls along the top surfaces of the bin sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 5031414
Abstract: Discarded refrigerators, freezers and like cooling units are relieved of confined supplies of coolant and/or lubricant by transporting them onto a tiltable platform which attracts the cooling units by suction and tilts them until the freshly tapped portion of the normally closed circuit for coolant or lubricant is located at the lowermost point of the circuit. The lubricant or coolant can be evacuated by a pump by way of a conduit which is connected to a tapping tool and discharges into a vessel. Alternatively, the coolant or lubricant is caused to flow from the tapped circuit by gravity to gather in a vessel beneath the tiltable platform. The transporting system for cooling units can employ trolleys and winches with suction cups which lift discarded cooling units from the gathering point for discarded cooling units and remove cooling units from the platform when the lubricant- or coolant-evacuating operation is completed.

Abstract: An under the counter ice making machine has a refrigerator for producing ice cube bearing slabs. A freezer compartment support means includes a bottom compartment having a rear panel extending upwardly to a top panel. The evaporator of the refrigerator is attached to the rear panel adjacent to the top panel and the remainder of the refrigerator components are supported in the bottom compartment which has an open top. A separate unitary freezer compartment includes an integrally formed ice bin portion and a top portion. When the freezer compartment is resting on the bottom compartment of the support means the top portion coacts with the evaporator bearing rear wall end to enclose the top portion. Thus, the freezer compartment is slidably mounted on the bottom compartment so that the bottom of the ice bin portion closes the bottom compartment.

Abstract: In order to permit a motor-compressor unit to be connected with the coolant circuit of a cooling device without interference from the walls of a compartment provided in the cooling device for housing the motor-compressor unit and to secure the motor-compressor unit in the compartment, the motor-compressor unit is placed at least partially outside the compartment and is pushed into the compartment and secured therein only after its coolant conduits have been connected with the coolant circuit and the electrical connections have been made. For this purpose, a mounting plate is temporarily installed in the compartment and the motor-compressor unit is loosely placed on it. After the connections have been made, the motor-compressor unit is pushed into the compartment on the mounting plate and then the mounting plate is removed. The tongues on rails secured to the motor-compressor unit are then screwed into the housing of the cooling device at the entrance to the compartment.
