Helically Wound Patents (Class 623/1.22)
  • Patent number: 6217609
Abstract: The invention relates to a braided implantable endoprosthesis such as a stent or stent-graft with selectively terminated elongated member ends to aid orientation and control. A saw-tooth or crown pattern is formed on an end or on an edge of an opening in the generally tubular body. The pattern is defined by a series of terminus on the elongated members at a predetermined distance from respective control points. The termini cooperate with the control points and provide layers when constrained. The invention also relates to methods of making a braided implantable endoprosthesis with patterned terminated ends.

  • Patent number: 6214042
Abstract: A micromachined stent includes an elongate resilient wire formed into a coil for threading lengthwise into and through a catheter for ultimate discharge from the end of the catheter, to a target location in a blood vessel or body duct. When discharged, the wire resumes a coil form to hold the vessel or duct walls apart. Selective preferential flexibility is provided in the wire by placement of generally transversely formed cuts on the exterior of the wire.

  • Patent number: 6210432
Abstract: A device for treatment of mitral annulus dilatation comprises an elongate body having two states. In a first of these states the elongate body is insertable into the coronary sinus and has a shape adapting to the shape of the coronary sinus. When positioned in the coronary sinus, the elongate body is transferable to the second state assuming a reduced radius of curvature, whereby the radius of curvature of the coronary sinus and the radius of curvature as well as the circumference of the mitral annulus is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6176873
Abstract: A stent includes a mesh tube so constituted that a diameter thereof is contracted when axially extended, while the diameter thereof returns to its original diameter when not axially extended. A cap is provided to a first axial end of the mesh tube for bundling the first axial end of the mesh tube. The cap has a through hole connecting an interior and an exterior of the mesh tube. A tail tube is provided to a second axial end of the mesh tube so that the tail tube and the mesh tube form a continuous path. The tail tube bundling the second axial end of the mesh tube.
