Abstract: An earring including a primary ornamental body and a clamping member, a pair of mounting legs and a mounting base held in between formed at an end of the ornamental body and an end of the clamping member, respectively, the pair of mounting legs and the mounting base being pivotably attached to each other with one or two or more elastic metal plate members interposed therebetween, the pivot portion being swaged together with the metal plate member. The mounting base has a recessed groove or notch formed in its outer periphery, and when the mounting legs and the mounting base are relatively turned, the metal plate member is deflected into the recessed groove or notch of the mounting base, and the deflected portion is engaged with an end edge of the recessed groove or notch of the mounting base.

Abstract: An earring clip for supporting an elongated jewelry item having a substantially planar backing surface. The earring clip includes a top loop that terminates in a spherical member that is for support at a base of the pinna of the ear of the user; an intermediate section that is contiguous with the top loop and that includes at least one contact pad that is secured to the substantially planar backing surface of the elongated jewelry item in order to support the elongated jewelry item from the earring clip; and a lower loop that is contiguous with the intermediate section and that terminates in an end location. The earring clip further includes a pivot leg that is hinged at the end location of the lower loop, and has both an open position wherein the pivot leg is disposed away from the spherical member to enable the earring clip to engage about the ear of the user, and a closed position wherein the pivot leg is closed toward the spherical member in order to hold the earring clip in place.

Abstract: The present invention describes an earring support device for relieving the tension caused by having large earrings hanging from a piercing for an extended amount of time. The support device has a set of clam-shell shaped earlobe guards that are hinged together and clipped onto an earlobe. The earring support device further has apertures that correspond with that of the ear piercing, wherein when the pin of the earring is placed through the earring support device apertures, the earring support device functions to distribute the forces applied by the earring more evenly through the earlobe. The clam-shelled halves of the earring support device cover an area from the piercing to the bottom of the earlobe, and thus further serves to mask the effects of prior extended wearing of heavy jewelry.

The earring is wearable even without a pierced hole in the non-lobe outer ear region.

Abstract: Described is a jewelry adapter. The jewelry adapter allows users to wear post earrings with or without pierced ears. The jewelry adapter includes attachment means which permit the jewelry adapter to attach to an ear lobe. A tube member attached to, or formed with, the attachment means accommodates a post of an earring. The post is inserted through the tube member such that a separate earring nut secures the post earring to the tube member.

The clip includes a base having an ornamental surface and an attachment device secured to said base for movement between a first position and a second position relative to said base to open and close the clip to engage a portion of an article therebetween. A plurality of projections are secured to said base, wherein each projection projects toward said attachment device to engage a portion of the article therebetween. At least one of the projections has a layer of relatively soft, elastomeric friction engaging material to enhance the grasping capabilities of the clip, without damaging the article.

The central planes are offset to a degree such that each jewelry clasp can be rotated in a manner that a hole in an eyelet from one engagement region fits over a post from a second engagement region and a magnet in one jewelry clasp can magnetically engage with a magnet in the second jewelry clasp.
